im looking into doing this but my problem is that i have a line out converter (using my stock radio with 2 subs and an amp)...
does this work the same way by putting the wires into the back of my radio
or does it require more work, like putting wires into the LOC?? if anyone knows
id appreciate it. went to a shop aroung here and they didnt know....
BUMP for an answer to my question

ill try that again. i even tried pulling em out and putting em in the other way. do u think an electrical or auido place would be able to get it working

also, my dad checked them with a test light (the wires installed into the steering wheel and the back of the radio) and they have no power running from any of the connections we made

they dont necessarily have to have high voltage running through them, the switches could be based on low level digital signal for communications.

like av911 said, recheck all of your connections, make sure all pins are pressed into the connectors completely and make sure you are hooked into the correct pins on all ends.

I have a 2006 LX Sedan. I’m wanting to add factory steering wheel controls but tap them into a PAC SWI for my pioneer aftermarket headunit.

From what I understand, I only need to purchase the control assembly part, correct and then reuse the old harness pinouts to tap into the existing harness behind the steering wheel? I belive it’s item 36770-SNA-A11 in my case.
I do not need to buy a harness, correct? Just the audio control part, and install that to the steering wheel. Then run 2 wires from behind the steering wheel to the PAC SWI? Make the run about 30” to be safe.

I’m pretty handy with wiring… just making sure I got it right.

Thanks in advance.

I was thinking the same thing. For us LX owners can I just tap into the steering wheel portion (pin 4?) and connected that to the white wire of the PAC unit?

I'm adding the PAC to an aftermarket unit so why would I have to run the two wires from the steering wheel to the radio harness? Is there something I don't know about?

Obviously the red, and black wires get connected respectively, but can I just tap the white one right off the steering wheel connector?

2 Questions/Concerns.

RBP LX, how come the connections are different from these two pictures?

1. I noticed the same thing. What happens inside the steering wheel that changes the pinout location?

The answer given didn't answer the question. If you look at the two pins you'll notice the pinout locations are different. It just seems odd that in the pictures quoted above, the pinout locations are entirely different.

2. I have a 2006 sedan. I ordered the 'A11' part but saw that it has been overridden by the 'A12' piece. Is there a difference between the two?
My wires are pink/green and brown, located on the top two right slots (wires coming toward you, harness clip facing up).

I'm doing a bit extra with this project and want to make sure this is right.

Welcome
The installation of the Covenant Steering wheel audio controls but I want to install support for select / reset wheel controls.

I watched a connector select / reset but I do not know which cable is to switch sel. / reset and that the - / +. Does anyone knows and could give diagram nipples?

my second question.
Why red and herb cable connects to the cruse control and what do they serve?
As you can see my nipple is different than in the post at the beginning on page 1

and I stripped the two steering wheels. still do not know what there are two cables marked on the photos with a white plug. anyone know? because I must also add the beam because of their silent in the car.
