ill give that a consideration n its directly proportionate to the availability of time at my end. Im online either when im travelling or in the loo(just like now
) point noted.will sort out the notebook,transfer some photos n then write clear instrs. I would like to write it here on 8thCivic.com - 8th Generation Honda Civic Forum but i dont have the option of writing a new thread THANKS for the info

HELP! I need help removing the two torx screws on the steering wheel. They seem stuck and I can't for the life of me get them off.. Anyone else have trouble with this? I dont want to strip them.

Got everything disconnected and unscrewed. To anyone attempting this id suggest a ratchet when removing the torx screws. Now onto the wiring.

Sweet. Wiring for steering wheel controls is complete. I now have working steering controls. Next step is to add my Axxess module + install my alpine headunit.

Cheapest place is right here. Might be a bit of a hassle but I got lucky and found some. It costs like $100 for the harness at any part catalog online (hondapartsnow, 1hondaparts, and so forth) You could also buy a brand new steering wheel and it'll just be plug and play physical control wise.

is theres anybody here already done to install audio steering wheel
control in my honda civic sedan 2011 dx-vp doesnt come with cruise and

Don't think it would work since there's no harness behind the air bag to tap into? Or it'd be a lot more trouble than its worth. You MIGHT be able to just tap them directly if you had an after market headunit?

thats what im thinkng no wire or harness behind my airbag except for

there's two harnesses. one behind the airbag that the physical controls plug into, then then there's one beneath the steering column that connects to the radio.. it's more trouble than it's worth.

if you can fit the steering wheel controls in the harness i'd do that and then wire them directly to a aftermarket steering wheel control (axxess or PAC) and get an aftermarket headunit.

hi, i just got the steering wheel assembly with audio controls and the clockspring (all for only $70 shipped).. do i still need to do extra wiring on my lx?

not sure what the clockspring contains but you should need to still add the 2 pins to the two harnesses, one on the top of the steering wheel and one behind the radio.

thanks for the quick reply.. will be doing this over the weekend.. one more thing, i noticed that on my lx it doesn't have the wiper int ring.. i also wanted to replace it while I'm at it. do you think if i just replace it, will it work?
