Hi guys,
A few months ago, I got an icebox air intake for 09+ TSX from CT Engineering. I wasn't sure if its gonna work for our cars or not but I decided to give it a try. Plus, Nate at CT is a really nice and helpful guy who can answer any questions; so I decided why not.
So, intake is basically an Ice Box type that has a molded fiberglass lower box design and carbon fiber lid with inlaid CT Engineering logo. I really liked closed box design, and of course CT logo to match SC cover (ha ha). Also, it utilizes larger air filter; I believe the one that is used for S2000 intake.
First time I tried to fit intake a while back, it didn't really work. I bought TSX air hose and it just didn't look right. So I searched through thousands of pics of different air houses in Internet. It took me a while but then I saw 08 WRX house and it seem to look somewhat right to me. It has slightly larger inlet/outlet size then TSX hose. Anyway, tonight I decided to try it again. I removed most of the parts that get on a way and it seems to work.
Of course, its just a first step to make intake work but I think air house will work perfect. There are still some stuff that has to be done: relocate fuse box and ECU .... but I think I have a few ideas on where to place them. I hope its gonna work since I really like this intake. I am gonna work on it in the next few weeks and see what happens.
Anyway, here are a few pics I took tonight. I also took a couple of pictures to compare CT air filters and funnels of Si and TSX intakes. Sorry for the dirty engine bay and filter, just got my car back from the shop after 2 months. Thanks everyone for looking.
*******UPDATE*******
Finally I installed everything. Took me some time but I was expecting it. Anyway, here are the new installed pics. Sorry for the somewhat dirty engine. I didnt really have time to clean .. have to go to work in 5 hours. Thanks guys
