Hi guys,

A few months ago, I got an icebox air intake for 09+ TSX from CT Engineering. I wasn't sure if its gonna work for our cars or not but I decided to give it a try. Plus, Nate at CT is a really nice and helpful guy who can answer any questions; so I decided why not.

So, intake is basically an Ice Box type that has a molded fiberglass lower box design and carbon fiber lid with inlaid CT Engineering logo. I really liked closed box design, and of course CT logo to match SC cover (ha ha). Also, it utilizes larger air filter; I believe the one that is used for S2000 intake.

First time I tried to fit intake a while back, it didn't really work. I bought TSX air hose and it just didn't look right. So I searched through thousands of pics of different air houses in Internet. It took me a while but then I saw 08 WRX house and it seem to look somewhat right to me. It has slightly larger inlet/outlet size then TSX hose. Anyway, tonight I decided to try it again. I removed most of the parts that get on a way and it seems to work.

Of course, its just a first step to make intake work but I think air house will work perfect. There are still some stuff that has to be done: relocate fuse box and ECU .... but I think I have a few ideas on where to place them. I hope its gonna work since I really like this intake. I am gonna work on it in the next few weeks and see what happens.

Anyway, here are a few pics I took tonight. I also took a couple of pictures to compare CT air filters and funnels of Si and TSX intakes. Sorry for the dirty engine bay and filter, just got my car back from the shop after 2 months. Thanks everyone for looking.

*******UPDATE*******

Finally I installed everything. Took me some time but I was expecting it. Anyway, here are the new installed pics. Sorry for the somewhat dirty engine. I didnt really have time to clean .. have to go to work in 5 hours. Thanks guys

box has about 3.5-4" inlet that pulls air from about the same area as CAI. I am gonna use NACA scoop in front of the radiator area or fog light hole to guide air to the box. I am gonna add more pics as I make some more progress. Tonight I just wanted to see if air hose will work. It was my main worry.

No, i just test fit it last night to see if its posible to make it work with the air tube I got. I am going to the garage now to see how to go about fuse box and ECU placement. It will depend on a main wires that connect ECU and also go to fuse box. I know this intake a little DIY project but thats what makes it fun, haha, at least for me.

Thanks everyone. I just finished looking at all the wiring and ways to relocate fuse box and ecu. I had to extend one small double wire to I can move ecu closer to fuse box. I am thinking to place fuse box under brake fluid tank and place ecu near where fuse box is right now. Anyway, i will continue tomorrow and see what happens. i will update pics as i do any progress. thanks guys

Thanks to all of you guys. Tonight, I will probably go to HomeDepot and try to make a custom bracket that holds fuse box. I plan to place it right under brake fluid tank. I cut pretty much all the plastic clips that hold wiring last night so I can re-route components pretty much anywhere. We'll see what happens.

Last night, I found place for fuse box and ECU. I had to extend another small wire. Tonight, I am gonna make brackets for fusebox, ECU, and intake box itself. I think my mounting plan should work. Also, I am gonna drill airhose to make 2 inlets/outlets. If I finish it, I will post everything installed.

Thanks a lot man.

I've been in a garage for the past 4 hours. Just finish mounts for intake and fuse box. I just need to make one for the ECU and its done. I'll probably post a few pics before I go to bed. I didnt really make a lot of pics but if anyone will be interested later on.. I can make more later. Thanks guys

I didnt get a chance to monitor IAT yet. I drove to my work today for about 10-15 mins and opened hood to see if box got hot or anything. It was ambient temp. I am going to hook up FP this weekend and see what happens. I didnt connect scoop yet. I have 4" inlet NACA scoop laying around with 4" duct. Inlet to air box is around 3.5"-4", so it should pair pretty good. As soon as I get any info I'll post it. I may just try to see temp with out scoop and with.

subscribed. I gotta say it looks like you did great work on this.
thank you guys

nice work. how does it sound compared to a regular short ram ?
thanks. Its kind of hard to say because of SC noise. I will ask my brother to rev it up a few times so I can listen to it outside. I'll let you know.
