WTF, i dont ever remember a leather option, and sure enough in the pix, they do look like leather seats. kinda nice, but idk, i do love our clothe seats, but still, ive never heard of this, cant be dealer option can it really? im in for more info, i wana know forsure if theyre custom, and if so, how much were they?
My old car that I sold for the Si had leather, and I miss it lol Im not a huge fan of cloth, but huge fan of the car, so it wasnt make or break for me. Just wondering how this guy got them. I have seen leather in an Si before a few years ago in a TW FG2. The seats were tan leather, and had the Si embroidering and looked so good.
leather seats are custom. you could request it through the dealer but it will go through a different shop and it can be costly. From what I remember, it could cost more than $1k.
If you search, there was a dealer somewhere in CA that was installing katskin kits (probably what that is) and calling it an option, which it was not. There has never been a USDM Si with factory leather.
dealer option cuz they source it out to the upholstery shop and then charge the buyer twice what they paid when the customer could have just went and got it done themselves for much cheaper
dealer option, not factory option
some offered it, others didnt
some also offered heated seats, if you look at the little color plastic "quick info" book thing that should have came with the car it shows the controls for heated seats go in the pocket right in front of the cupholders
I just ordered custom leather skins from Classic Soft Trim. I have installed these kits in 5 of my cars and they are top notch in quality. Katzkins does not have near the fitment and leather grade quality compared to these....I took off a set of Katzkins I ordered and replaced with these because they fit so poorly and the leather quality sucked.
These will be black with two tone light grey inserts and grey double stitching and the Si logo on the seat back...
I ordered mine on ebay but the company is from NY. Cost me about 600 for the leather seat covers and fitment was perfect. Took me 4 days to install. Did it after work from 6-9. Pretty easy diy
Custom front leather. As you can see, for the blind folks, the rear seats does not have red stitching. Which means......... oh geee... its aftermarket! DURRRRR
I bought mine already installed with dealer installed leather, wish I could've gotten heated seats but it doesn't get too cold in Arizona, but it was a bit cold driving it from illinois in the middle of winter.
idk it was included in the total price, I bought my car used with 8.5k on it, fully loaded, leather, nav with extended warranty for 21.5k out the door included taxes, license, fees, think it might've been a 1-2k extra depending on where the dealership outsourced to do it, it was at selected dealerships through a third party upholster. A dealership add on not a honda add on.
i think its cheaper to get custom upholstery honestly.
thats what i did
i picked the fabric- red suede with bride centers
and the thread- red
could have done it any way i wanted
and costed right around 1k installed.
yeah either that or for the money spent if you really like leather, some nice recaro pole position leather bucket seats, looked amazing in that nsx in the last issue of hondatuning, cleeeeeeaaaaan.
