For arguments sake lets say the performance was EXACTLY the same as the manual and that it gets the same exact gas mileage. (And the same price.)

"Would you buy a Civic SI with an Automatic option?"
louieinyo said:Whats wrong with a tiptronic or autostick option on a si?Manuals are outdated, benz, bmw don't even offer a clutch anymore, because the 0-60 times and shifts are faster with a autostick. Why does everyone who drives a stickshift think they are better drivers than auto drivers? With a auto you pay more attention to road your not beating up your car by holding revs too long and peeling out at every light. Not to mention the herky jerky 1-3 gears on a manual especially the dbw si.You can row your own boat if that makes you feel special.I prefer the luxury of having an 5spd automatic.
Oh really got me.You can't get a 7 series with a clutch, which is their flagship with the most advanced tech. You forgot to mention any new benz with a clutch.kevzSi said:BMW actually offers almost all their cars with a manual transmission. Its actually a standard feature on most of their cars. Quit talking out of your ass.
and also i dont peel out at every light (or any light for that matter) and if you know how to drive your car, then it shouldnt be jerky at all...
And also manuals are not outdated. All that new tiptronic crap are improvements over regualr automatic transmissions to be more like manual. So if anything your 5spd automatic is outdated bro. Sorry. :violin:
just answering what i put in bold.....i would have to say they might not be used to the way the Si shifts b/c myself and a few others know how to drive there Si and make it from 1st all the way to 6th w/o u even noticing it's manual (smooth shifts).....louieinyo said:Oh really got me.You can't get a 7 series with a clutch, which is their flagship with the most advanced tech. You forgot to mention any new benz with a clutch.

Thats just one of many threads about the herky jerkiness of si's 6spd.So according to you everyone that posted a complaint about the si bucking does not know how to drive a stick?
Auto's are outdated? You make no sense. Why don't we all go back to using really slow dial up connections because they sound better?
yea ur talkin bout the bucking. only happens for about a minute when the engines really cold in the mornings. I thought you were talking about the car jerking when you shift gears...because if you know how to drive your car, you can make it shift as smooth as an automatic. thats what I meant. The bucking is totally different! lollouieinyo said:Oh really got me.You can't get a 7 series with a clutch, which is their flagship with the most advanced tech. You forgot to mention any new benz with a clutch.
