mishimoto is how u spell it actually. and radiators is what they "specialize" in. i wouldn't recommend their intake system, but thier radiators are from what i hear pretty decent for the price.
i haven't heard of many people on here upgrading their radiators whether it be they use their car for auto-x, track, drag, or street. i don't think you'd really need to upgrade....i dunno, maybe you're entering a serious, long race soon? anybody else install an aftermarket radiator?
if all your wanting is cooling, maybe just upgrade the fans, different thermostat for temp changes, etc... and if u dont get the results u want with thaose, then i would go radiator, but its your car and this is just my opinion. good luck and have fun with your decision
thanks for all the advice guys. but has anyone had a mishimoto rad? im not gona enter in any long 24 hour races are anything. just wanting to see if the radiator was a good investment. it seems like our cars kinda heat up a lil. and it revs like a maniac. i think in the end i am getting a radiator and just wanted to see any opinions on mishimoto since i know so little about them. if it was koyo i think i would of ordered already. if anyone has had a mishimoto id love to hear how it worked for you thanks =)
junchoe. If you get this radiator, if it is ever colder out where you live, your car will take FOREVER to heat up, but on the upside it will make your system run cooler which of course will help with freeing up power.
Dont listen to the "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" guys, if that were the case no-one would mod thier cars. Terrible advice.
Like most people have said, you don't need an aftermarket radiator if the car is just your DD. But if you plan on really pushing the car for long periods of time (especially in the heat), then a radiator might become a worthwhile mod.
For most of the people on this forum, however, a radiator isn't really necessary.
It is true that you will get little to no gains, the advantage will be that the car will make consistent power for longer periods of time. After a certain duration of time of hard core tracking or hard driving the advantages of a good cooling system come in to play so the car can deliver the same power for longer periods of time.
