I have a boosted R18 and want to do an IAT sensor in the charge pipe before the TB. I was thinking of using a 2000 Prelude Base IAT sensor but wanted to see if I should make mods to the sensor, or get a different one. Also, can I just cut the wires on my MAF sensor harness for the IAT and tap them for the sensor without doing anything else and it work? Keep in mind the R18 still needs the MAF regardless of the MAP fuel table tuning. We can only tune the MAP fuel tables with the external IAT. We still need the MAF on our setup because our ECU does not do Speed Density (I apologize for spelling this out to those of you who already know). Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

Oh, ok. Thank you. I'm new to using the external IAT so I want to make sure I get all my ducks in a row before I purchase and get the work done.

Did you just splice it into the wires on the MAF for the stock IAT? The MAF sensor on the R18 is identical so I presume the hook up would be identical as yours since the sensor is the same and the voltages per the helm manuals are the same.

I need it for MAP tuning and proper fuel mixture. I have a different, more efficient intercooler now. I have a RSX sensor, but no pigtail. no RSX in junkyards here =( That's why I want the Prelude. The sensor has bolt holes, and comes with the harness.

I wouldn't use the rsx iat as its only a push thru. I would use an obd1 since they are bolt in. You can order from xenocron.com the sensor and bung. Source the pigtail on ebay. Option 2 is if you can't find the pigtail you can order the iat from t1, fast response for 53 and that's with a pigtail and npt bung.

No offense but seeing as how you just posted asking about why a lightweight flywheel is bad for a turbo setup, I wouldn't start telling another member what sensor to use, especially for the reason you just gave.

That's alright. I've been around the block a few times. He's talking about something different. He's referring to the MAP sensor, and even then, Hondata DOES NOT recommend it since they have their own 4 Bar map sensor. I know how to weed through the BS around here. LoL Although, I'd love to see where this lightened flywheel post is.
