Ok well that is not entirely true i had to gap mine and i knew what i was doing and have had ZERO problems.

NO... everything is hoked up right I have just never perfromed a spark plug transplant before, everything else, yes, but not this.

hes using after market plugs.....

 

Aftermarket or OEM why would anyone downgrade from Iridium?

 

because they are too hot for running a nos setup..

 

its done and gaped at .032, stock was at .038, I thought .020 or .025 were too much

 

Just get a spark plug gap tool...thingy...It's not hard to do...

Copper plugs are better for performance. You can buy them in different heat ranges for different applications. They are much, much cheaper than iridium or platinum plugs. I have fouled many sets of copper plugs when adjusting fuel pressure when I had my Mustang with a blower. $1.25 a plug is a lot easier to come up with than $6.25 a plug x 8.

Not exactly. Iridium is a lot stronger than platinum and can take the spray just fine. Platinum plugs tend to melt under extreme cylinder conditions. I have never seen it happen...but nobody I knew who ran forced induction or nitrous ran platinum plugs.

no... really.. i was right.. that is why he bought COLDER plugs. we arent talking about strength here. lol

The question was "why would anyone downgrade from Iridium plugs (in general)?".

You said "because they are too hot for nitrous" which is not exactly true.

If you were answering a different question, there was a miscommunication and I apoloigize.

iridium plugs do get hotter i would stay with them tho unless you were adjusting fuel flow and they wouldnt be in over a week.

 

it looks like you'll need to remove the plastic cowl at the bottom of the windshield to get to your plugs. hope this helps.
