1. BMW 7 Series
In the market and shopping for a used car? Consumer Reports has released a list of 20 used vehicles to stay away from as they have a reputation for causing trouble. Listed is a top 20 list of used cars from 2003 to 2012 model year to avoid in alphabetical order. These vehicles had multiple years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability, according to Consumer Reports’ Annual Auto Survey.

The BMW 7-Series may be the German automaker’s luxury flagship, but used models aren’t without their issues. From 2001-2008, the 7-Series featured the good ‘ol “Bangle Butt” and sported some highly controversial styling. Early production of that generation was overwhelmed with issues even causing BMW to purchase back some of the vehicles back in 2002-2003. BMW of North America even extended its warranty on all 2002-2003 model year 7-Series vehicles to six years/100,000 miles from the original four years/50,000 miles.

I find it hilarious that it lists both the "Caravan", "Grand Caravan", and "Town and Country" as different vehicles. It just comes off as desperate to fill a list. Yeah, they're junk, but really, you could have put all the Chrysler corporate minivans as a single model since they are all the same vehicle with a different name.

I dont think consumer reports really has a lot of credibility.
I purchased a brand spanking new 2012 dodge caravan for the same price as a new civic ex. The thing is nothing to brag about, but it does have the new penta star v6 rated at 283Hp, and is one of the best V6's you can get at the moment, in terms of refinement and power delivery, Yes, even better then honda or toyota's sixes.
Not to mention the van is totally loaded standard, auto-up and down front windows, blu tooth, auto dimming rear view mirror, ipod integration, sat radio, ext temp gauge, genuine leather steering wheel/shift knob, 6 speed trans, alloy wheels, Not to mention, no rattles or creaks like the pre-2011 caravans. Really is the best money if you got kids.
3 series wagon is way to narrow to be comfortable with 3 kids and two adults, and cannot be done if your kids are still in child seats.

The list was made from reliability issues. I don't know that much about the new caravans, but I do know that there's been quite a few reliability issues with the new pentastar engine. I'm assuming that's probably one of the reasons those vans made the list. There are plenty of 100+ page threads on the jeep forums about ticking issues and cracked heads on the new pentastar. That was one of the reasons why I decided to get a tacoma instead of a new wrangler.

Notice that the majority of these vehicles are GM products and that Honda has no vehicles listed and the only Fords on the list are the time troubled exploder and the super duty diesel that is known yo have horrendous issues with the Turbo diesel engine? Where's the Camry? The carrolla? The Taurus? The mustang? The v6 CTS? All these have tested as being terrible vehicles in the model years mentioned...
