you dont need colder plugs really unless your running FI, then you need to go 1-2 stages colder

 

Correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't that help to keep the heat out of the engine?

To answer your question, 2 steps colder for a stock car is un-needed. Its completely overkill for a stock car and its no need at all.

well there you go, unless your pushing 75hp out there is no point like I stated. Which at this time with the SI you are lookin at a turbo/supercharger for sure to get 75-100 extra hp

so, to ask you guys a basic question, what are good spark plugs that will add horsepower on my car?

 

spark plugs arent worth the money unless you have a lot of power added to your engine, save the money for future mods

 

My car is boosted and even Greddy only recommended 1 step colder. Tech support told me 2 step makes the car run like ish.

Is it 14 mm?

 

Aren't all spark plug sockets pretty universal? There is a rubber grommet on the inside to help pull the plugs out. A regular 14mm won't pull out the plug.

 

Hey where do I get some Denso or NGK plugs at? I cant find any for my 08 Si. What about using ExtremeX Ultra High Performance Ir/Rh Spark Plugs (heat 7) and which heat number should I use? they have heat 5-8..

 

^ How many miles do you have? The stock Densos do not need to be replaced until 80-100k. Unless you're running sc/turbo/nitrous, it's not necessary.

those r the plugs i got the first ones stock heat for 36 bucks yeah i know it says for wrx but they r for Si's too. Changed the stock ones out at about 55k they were still good but just thought i would change them :beer:

Uh-HUH, I don't get why people change them out (unless high mileage) early, when they already are one of the best.

How so? Honda ran NGKs in all the older obsolete engines such as B, D, H series etc...

With all the improvements they made with the K series why do you think they would use Denso instead? Why do you think NGK is a better brand? Higher end cars all run Denso components as well, such as HID ballasts.
