but if you don have a manual
basiacally its your 10K checkup
the dealership would rotate tire check fluids like brakes and such
change air filter
check steering
i took my car to the dealership and they checked all that jazz for $20
said it was fine and needed nothing

 

yeah dude owners manual FTW...why run synthetic til 10K? The ecm calculates when ur oil should be changed by how you drive the vehicle...so change it when it says to. Waiting that long is also going to wear ur tires faster if you dont set the pressures urself.

Slowroll they do not change the filter that early. 10K is lil early to change the air filter, just throwing money away. I would say 15K at the earliest or get a K&N drop in filter.

A 10K service should be about $140 depending on the dealerships labor rate

they wanted to sell me one but i turned them down

 

the oil minder doesn't know i have synthetic in there. it's set for regular oil. why change it out at less than 5k miles? regular oil is good for 5k miles, i should be able to get at least 6 from synthetic.

so i'm gonna have to bring it in to the dealership for my next change at 10k?

B1 is the same as A1, only replace your oil filter at the same time.

So, oil change, tire rotation, check brakes, hoses, filter elements, rotate tires

 

A=oil change. B=oil change/brake inspection, 1=Rotation, 2=Repleace air/cabin filter...the rest is in the owners manual. This is a waste of a thread as all this info is in THE OWNERS MANUAL, READ IT!

It wouldnt have to made in the first place if you read the manual, Honda doesnt give to you for schnitz and giggles. If the car says it, there is probably somewhere that tells you whats up. Dont mistake chance on ineptitude.

 

go ahead and change your oil every 10k and only every 10k and see how your car is running down the road in comparison to everyone who ran 3-5k. when your oil loses its viscosity and you are still driving it at 8k your rings will fry...
but then again what do i know. you go ahead and change your oil every 10k and be like the rest of the dumb monkeys who dont get their oil changed until the reminder tells them to.

 

The oil change reminder comes up based on how much fuel you've burned through. So if you drive harder and faster then it will pop up earlier.

 

not true. its from how much air your car has ingested and how many miles is on your car.
It uses the MAF sensor to figure it out.

First of all who reads the manual service any problems with my car I bring it back to honda lol.

 

"rolls eye's" The computer in our cars today, re-calibrates every time we start the dam thing. The sensors that monitor everything determines when and how the maintenance minder pops.

syntec full syn, change every 8k kms. by that time it is just starting to degrade. anyone that knows anything about oil can tell just by putting it on your finger from the dip stick.

Air filters, stock, you can change every 15k kms no prob. i check it every oil change. just did last oil change yesterday at 108k kms, 2009 Civic SI Coupe. My air filter has been in for the last 16k kms and looks almost like new.

Had K&N, pointless and useless. Waste of money in my opinion. I did comparison between K&N and stock, stock lasted longer, and gave the same dam performance as the K&N. so, don't waste your money.

 

Cept you can reuse the K&N, can't clean a paper filter.
