I've had a couple times when i went to start up and move my car, there was a horrific screeching noise sounding like nails on a chalkboard. I'm assuming its something brake related because when i step on the brake it goes away, and when i release the brake it comes back. It only does this occasionally, kinda when it wants to lol, then after a bit just goes away. Anyone have this problem or have any clue how to fix it lol

more info please. Internet diagnostics is a pain in the butt already, but with what you have here we cant really deduce anything other than "it might be the brakes"...which you have already done. Need factors such as:

Was it raining prior to moving the car?
how fast are you going when you notice it?
temperature?
does it ever come back during normal driving?

no it wasnt raining before or during, so rust or anything is out of the question. I can be going any speed going forward, doesnt happen in reverse. Temp is around 70 degrees, but happens in really any temp, and after it goes away it doesnt come back.

hmm...im guessing something to do with one of the clips between the brake pads and the calipers rubbing on the rotor. I have my r/r wheel doing the same and thats what it is, it just has not annoyed me enough to fix it yet. if not that then you may have a brake rotor thats worn weird. Is it a constant squeel or is it more like a "squeak-squeak-squeak"? Mine is a constant squeal at any speed until I hit the brakes. Then it will go away and not come back for a day or 2, then it will do it again for like a week or so.

its pretty consistant. i was assuming it was something rubbing on my rotors, i figured maybe it had something to do with my pads shifting or something idk lol. And thats how hine is, its consistant, then i hit the brakes, it stops with brakes applied, then i let go of them and it does it again ahaha

Yeah, its the pad guides sitting in the calipers. they allow the pads to slide in the caliper and they are rubbing your rotor. Just annoying as fack. No real harm, they will eventually wear in, or you will wear out your pads and replace the hardware when the time comes, no big deal.

it shouldnt be. it will sound bad but it shouldnt put a ridge in the rotor. the metal on the clips is very soft while the metal the rotor is made of is alot harder. it might sound godawful, but its just annoying. You can fix it if you want to. I am going to fix mine whenever I get some time, but its one of those things thats just annoying and doesnt really cause any significant damage.

My 2010 EX-L sedan often creaks and groans when I start to take off after the first start up of the morning, especially when I tap the brakes. It's really weird. I dunno if that's what you mean, but it's definitely a creak and a groan.

hey mike :wavey:. No its not like that, its a high pitched squeel while driving any speed but it seems to come and go, I know exactly what brent is talking about. I highly doubt it will score your rotor but if you want to take your brakes apart by all means, they arent a complicated system at all and it may actually help just taking apart and reseating some or all of the components, brent.
