Not like it's going to change anything.... Either way, I get nervous going to wal-mart cause the majority of people shopping there and even working there are all low-life scum (and no, I don't feel bad for making that generalization... if you want specific stories to back that up, PM me).

You really should be able to get your bumper painted for ~$200 and you can install yourself so if you can get it for $215 shipped, take it to a good shop who can color-match (they may need to blend it to the existing paint if they're not good).... you should be able to get it all fixed up for cheaper than $800. Pics of damage would be excellent... If it's low enough maybe you can just go HFP and call it a day!

 

painting a bumper alone will be about $200-300. thent here is the work of uninstalling old/reinstalling new...taping off entire car to fix/paint/blend the scratched quarter panel and blend the bumper into the other side quarter panel.

id say $800 is a fair price.

 

i dont know man i can get a bumper for like 150 and paint at a shop for 200-250 including r/i it all depends where u get it down so look around dont rush urself usually smaller shops charge less but that doesnt mean the quality goes down with it

 

Dealer had to redo mine since they put a screw though it for a front plate which I didn't want.

$800 was the cost for them.

Threadstarter, if they are fixing your quarter panel in the rear too, then yeah, your looking at a bit more work/cost... if it's just the bumper, $800 seems kinda steep IMO. Don't you have insurance?

 

I have insurance but it's a $500 deductible and I wasn't sure if a Hit and run would be covered under it.. I gotta go file a police report after class. I'll post pics later, I don't have a digi cam at school with me.

 

hit and run is covered under insurance. i paid only deductible for my last incident.

police report is a must.

 

Just buy the bumper, have it painted and install it yourself.

 

I got $860 when my car got rear ended. but had to make a tough decision on whether to ship my car from Cali to Mass or get a new bumper. My bumper is still f'd up.

 

Yeah I'm getting quotes of $1100+ now if I want some scratches on another panel fixed as well. $500 for someone else's **** up, unbelievable

 

My dad's acquaintance, who owns an auto body shop, quoted me about $400 for a compete bumper (including the bumper itself, paint and installation). I guess that's a hook-up price. I'd say around $600 would be a fair price for a complete job.

 

this is why when i go into any big shopping center parking lot, I look for a parking where there is no cars around. i would hate coming to my car and seeing that some dumbasswith no regard for other people's property messed my car up.
