New clutch installed, won't disengage!!!

So I just got done with a new clutch install on my 09 Civic LX, got everything together (with loads of elbow grease) and upon startup wouldn't go into gear, however goes in just fine when not running.
I have already had the transmission out twice (prior to full reassembly) and have confirmed all parts are in correctly. The slave cylinder does seem to actuate with the pedal, though the fork looks to be about halfway through it's full stroke without any pressure on the pedal.
This isn't my first clutch job, but is my first time dealing with THIS issue, and I will add that this is an aftermarket stage 1 clutch with new flywheel (old flywheel and pressure plate has heat spots and surface level cracks). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, though please nothing unrelated. I need this car working again and preferably soon.
Thank you for your time and opinions! 😊

Did you adjust the cmc after installing the clutch? You should only have about half an inch of freeplay so if your pedal moves half way before moving the fork I'm guessing you need to adjust it. I just installed a stage 3 comp clutch in my si and I had to adjust the master cylinder rod out quite far to get it to disengage the heavier pressure plate.

Are you sure the clutch was toast to begin with or could the cmc been the issue the whole time? I guess it doesn't matter at this point since you've already replaced the clutch but curious.

I'm dealing with a similar issue. Lost my clutch so I replaced it with a stage 3 comp clutch but two weeks later my cmc failed because the dampener broke. My clutch was definitely bad because the disc broke but now I'm not sure if the cmc was already going bad and caused the failure or if the heavy duty pressure plate killed the cmc. I swapped in the sirimoto cmc and slave and I'm hoping it will hold up with the stage 3 clutch but I'm having ptsd about breaking down again. Lol

Damn that sucks. If it goes through the gears good with the engine off but won't with it running it's got to be an engagement issue. Did you bleed the new cmc enough? I bench bled, gravity bled, vacuum bled and pumped the clutch and bled it a lot. First time I tested engagement it felt OK but not great so I bled it more then readjusted the cmc. Today was my first full 100 mile of driving day and it felt great. Now I'm just hoping it doesn't all of the sudden crap the bed on me again.

I'm sure the CMC did cause my premature clutch wear (old disk at about 5-10% friction material), and think I may have found the culprit in my current problem. I will get the part and try it before revealing, so that if it works I can give you the info and hopefully it'll help your car as well.
