Hey there guys,
Im new to this forum and also semi new to the car scene. I picked up a 2007 Honda Civic LX Sedan not too long ago and now im looking into new rims and tires for my car. The stock set up is currently 205/55 tires with 16x6.5 rims w/ offset of 45.
The rims that ive been eyeing are the "MB Battles" specifically in the size of 18x8 w/ 43 offset. Tires that would be bought with them are 215/40/18. I've done large amounts of research and already gone out of my ways to many tire/rim stores and tried getting advice on fitment options, but im constantly getting different feedback that oppose each other which leaves me confused. And here i am to ask you guys. :wavey: Im hoping to get valuable info from you guys! Thanks.
So i got Pep boys to measure out my stock setup to check whether these 18x8s with a 43 offset will fit my car, and they said that it will NOT fit, but i am Very close to fitment. They said all i need is 3/4 of an inch more (not lowered) and im cleared and wont rub the shocks/struts. But if my car were to be lowered, then that 3/4 inch is going to increase and therefore have even higher chances of hitting the shocks/struts.
So 18x8s w/ 43 offset accordingly to what they are saying (also americas tire is saying the same) is out of the game (correct me if you think otherwise), but what about 18x8s w/ 30 offset, will these fit and at the same time NOT rub against my shocks/struts even when the car is lowered 1.75 inches - 2 inches? Im a complete newb when it comes to offset, and im still semi confused on it due to hearing different feedback once again. Originally i thought 30 offset will bring your rims outwards more, but im also hearing vice versa. The website that sells these rims just says the offset for example is 30, so does that mean its +30? idk if that makes a difference.
Baseline, I really want these MB battle rims for my 07 civic sedan, So any advice and answers to my questions above to get these rims to fit on my car would be appreciated! Let me know if i need spacers, and if so, what "MM" or any other type of mod.
Thanks again for your time, hope you guys can help!
