So my question is what will be better for my daily it hasheader cat back (skunk 2 megapower) and flashpro already. But what will be better the 11.5 psi Kraftwerks or the 8psi ct kit. Open to suggestions anything will help thanks
Care to give any examples? My brother had lots of issues with his kraftwerks kit right from brand new BUT it was on an s2000.
:like:The power curve sucks on a kw compared to a ct. Highest HP numbers dont always mean the best kit, just my opinion.
Well I went with the KW and I was very sorry. Constant issues that kept me from enjoying the kit. Most notably, the issue with the belt tensioner. It's ironic, people get the KW kit because of the numbers it makes but once the belt starts slipping you won't see those numbers, you'll just start making excuses for the crappy kit it is.Definitely go KW. You will not be sorry lol
What was your issue with the belt tensioner? The manual tensioner bolt coming loose?Well I went with the KW and I was very sorry. Constant issues that kept me from enjoying the kit. Overall, the KW kit is very poorly put together and poorly engineered, IMO. This has been discussed several times by several members. But if people want to disagree or discount this experience, by all means, buy the kit, it's your money lol.
Both are relatively reliable. The kraftwerks will produce less heat and torque which will be easier on your engine/trans but the kit itself doesn't seem to be designed as well as the CTEI have 143K on my 06 Si. Is there a difference in reliability between these S/C's for longevity's sake?
The Kraftwerks kit is definitely not without issues but none of them are big problems.. For example, I found their mounting solutions for the fluid res and filter to be horrible. I used Tbolt mounts from frozenboost to really clean up the install. Both are relatively reliable. The manual tensioner bolt coming loose, falling out, another one snapping, the tensioner and pulley being out of alignment and eating up my belts, lol, just to name a few. And it was professionally installed by K20z3allmotor.What was your issue with the belt tensioner? The manual tensioner bolt coming loose?
Mine does loosen up over time but I usually just check the belt every so often and tighen it back up as needed. Agreed that it's definitely not the best design..
I've never had a problem with this. I did do tensioner face mod and filed a slight relief on the back, but that was mostly to allow for full range of motion of the tensioner.Has anyone found a hack for this tensioner bolt coming loose/falling out? What about blue loctite or something that is semi permanent? Lock washer?
Still selling the turbo kit for 8th gen civic si?I have an excellent turbo setup for sale! :hiding:
It makes it better, but still would struggle to make as much as the KW without even more mods. It takes quite a bit of mods to get the CT-e to 350+whp.
