I have the ct kit. I have 40,000 hard kms on it without an issue. My brother had lots of issues with his kraftwerks kit right from brand new BUT it was on an s2000.

The roots supercharger is an amazing combo with our vtec imo. The sound of the supercharger whine and vtec at over 8000rpm is really addicting. Also the instant torque is really great. Kraftwerks produce peak numbers but not the same experience. Look up Tongman on YouTube. He's the best example I could think of. You'll be at 300-320 whp with nice bolt on and smaller pulley. After cooler will put you at +350whp. If you were to race a 350whp kraftwerks kit, the roots style will win it.

Definitely go KW. You will not be sorry lol
Well I went with the KW and I was very sorry. Constant issues that kept me from enjoying the kit. Most notably, the issue with the belt tensioner. It's ironic, people get the KW kit because of the numbers it makes but once the belt starts slipping you won't see those numbers, you'll just start making excuses for the crappy kit it is.

Overall, the KW kit is very poorly put together and poorly engineered, IMO. This has been discussed several times by several members. But if people want to disagree or discount this experience, by all means, buy the kit, it's your money lol.

What was your issue with the belt tensioner? The manual tensioner bolt coming loose?

Mine does loosen up over time but I usually just check the belt every so often and tighen it back up as needed. Agreed that it's definitely not the best design..

I have 143K on my 06 Si. Is there a difference in reliability between these S/C's for longevity's sake?
Both are relatively reliable. The kraftwerks will produce less heat and torque which will be easier on your engine/trans but the kit itself doesn't seem to be designed as well as the CTE

Thank you for your opinion. I definitely plan on riding my so up to and beyond 200k. Probably within the next 10k miles I want to put one of these s/c on. So I'm really banking on getting another 3+ years out of this car all while s/c'd. I'd be curious to see if anyone has had one of these on their cars for 50k+

The Kraftwerks kit is definitely not without issues but none of them are big problems.. For example, I found their mounting solutions for the fluid res and filter to be horrible. I used Tbolt mounts from frozenboost to really clean up the install.

Im pretty curious what issues people have had with the belt tensioner, i never had any problems but I also had the milled face modified to give it proper range of motion (similar to mucter's mod)..

The manual tensioner bolt coming loose, falling out, another one snapping, the tensioner and pulley being out of alignment and eating up my belts, lol, just to name a few. And it was professionally installed by K20z3allmotor.

Also, my brackets holding the Rotrex oil reservoir snapped 3 times. Tons of little issues that shouldn't happen on a $4,500 kit. And I would classify the tensioner issue a big one lol.

Has anyone found a hack for this tensioner bolt coming loose/falling out? What about blue loctite or something that is semi permanent? Lock washer?

I've never had a problem with this. I did do tensioner face mod and filed a slight relief on the back, but that was mostly to allow for full range of motion of the tensioner.

I also created alternative mounting solutions for the Fluid Res and magnefine Filter with tbolt calmps.

Here is a photo of my catchcan mounted to an l bracket. the fluid res is similar, it shared the bolt with the ECU mount. you can see it tucked in next to the battery. Kraftwerks really should've included a more robust mounting solution like I'm showing here.

I'm looking at these two also and i'm definitely set on the KW kit. The kit has just proven itself over and over again. Will definitely be buying a kite once the funds are right for me.
