Hey guys, I just got my Black '08 SI Sedan a few weeks ago and I need to replace the air filter in it.....

I was wondering what everyone thought about the upgraded K&N air filter and if its worth paying the extra money for it even though its not too much more than the basic stock air filter..

Will it help my engine breath better?/ is it worth it?

I bought my K&N drop in not too long ago and ultimately it's for the convenience of being able to wash it instead of replacing all the time (gets pricey in the long run to replace). though there probably wasn't any real HP gain, in my '10 Si coupe, it did "feel" like it pulled a little harder, sounded better too IMO (this was after an Icebox mod, so it'll be compounded with that though keep in mind).

Cars have been running k&n for years without MAF issues, it's just in using the oil in moderation. No one ever seems to have any issues until they clean it themselves which leads me to believe people use way to much when they do it. It really is too bad that other companies don't offer them for our cars because I was personally love a nice amsoil, apexi, or similar drop in filter
