Will the Mugen radiator cap work for the new Si?

For the bling factor ;)

I actually auto-X so it's useful for mine, but it's also nice to have some Mugen on the whip.
Nope - sorry, but it isn't useful at all...the increased pressure of the mugen cap simply raises the boiling point of your system slightly (and not much since the OEM cap is 1.1 - most standard caps are .8 I think).

Bling is about all it's good for :)

You're missing the point............

I just spent too much f&*%$#@! money on a f&*%$#@! radiator cap. So trust me.....it's useful.

not it's useful...every .1 i think is atleast another 100 or so degrees in temperature added to the boiling point...my number may be wrong but every .1 added is important if u going to auto X and track race or just be driving hard all the time period.

anyway i also own 1...mugen...and there are 2 different types...u have to buy the one that fits the DENSO radiators, part number for cap = 19045-XGER-0000.

bling for real though...not much but subtle..

.2 bar probably gets you an additional 15-30 degrees F with a 50/50 mixture. If a 1.3 bar cap gained you 200 additional degrees before the cap popped then you'd be in the mid 400's and your engine oil wouldn't protect the engine and you would be the proud owner of a new motor.

No. There's no reason to, even with me Auto-Xing. There's no real benefit to running it on a daily driven vehicle. Unless I'm daily driving at the track. The rad cap is fine.
I agree with you on this. You just don't get to see that kind of coolant temps in normal, even extreme driving. Maybe if you auto-X in Rosamond in mid July in the middle of the day when it's 115 out it might help you.

Interesting. My thought is just the opposite. Go with the thermostat and thermal switch and forget the radiator cap. Stock thermo and fans kick at 220. Mugen upgrade will bring it down to 180. Here in FL, I would call that a plus, even on a daily driver.
This seems like the answer if you really need more cooling capacity but for a daily driver you are going to negatively affect your MPG running that much cooler.
