Hello,
I need some opinions/suggestions. I'm trying to decide what exhaust to go with but I'm not sure which one to pick. I've done some reading on both exhausts but I'm still undecided. Which one would you recommend that I go with? I have a 2009 Si coupe. Thanks!

i'm having basically the same dilemma... I had the greddy ti-c on my old r18 and loved it. But now with my new Si, at first i was set on getting another greddy tic or apexi n1... but in the long run i'm prob better off going with a 70mm+ option rather than the 60mm for better gains with other boltons + flashpro. I'm leaning towards the invidia n1 titanium 70mm... but just the looks of the apexi n1 are hard to pass up for me...

Im in the same situation as u are. But insteat of the skunk2 its between the Spoon N1 and apexi. I love the spoon N1 sound but tht apexi N1  just has tht JDM look tht sways to the side and sound tht makes me go crazy. But i narrowed it down im currently saving for a spoon N1 tho

Apexi N1 is one of my favorites, but I've heard it on the 8th gen Si through videos, and somehow they don't sound that good. I had it on an Eclipse, and I loved it. I'm gonna do some more reading up and see which one I decide for. I'm leaning toward the Skunk2 though.

I have a loud exhaust. It was awesome for a year, then it gets old. And you have 7 years on me, so I can only imagine how much quicker you'll get tired of it.

It's fun to have a loud exhaust when you're playing around, but when you're cruising on the highway and the exhaust drone is drilling into your brain and / or preventing you from talking to another person in your car, you grow tired of it. Just my personal experience.

Who knows, maybe I'll like it. I've had a Tsudo muffler on mine, and had it for the past 2 years. I just want some performance now. I just never liked the stock muffler sound so I changed it to a Tsudo muffler. It's time to go to the next step.

I too had bought the sk2 70mm and I love it. It was very loud at first, but you get used to it. Shiot, my cai was loud at first when I got that, but I didn't even notice that a week after I got it.
After 2 years, I got a fix it ticket for my exhaust noise and had to put the silencer in to get it signed off. I hated the silencer, and it looked super ***. Silencer is off and back to that super nice low exhaust noise. Sk2 is great!

All catbacks are going to be fairly similar in power gains. If you plan on getting a complete exhaust setup, I would recommend Vibrant system with the Gen2 catback.

Exhaust tones and looks are very personal. So in a thread like this you are going to get a large variety of opinions. I did a lot of research before I bought my system and the one thing I felt I had figured was who made a quality exhaust for our car (also have 09 FG2 Si). I had limited it down to 3. Skunk 2, Greddy and Vibrant. I wanted to install a complete exhaust and it made me feel more confident to only have one manufacturer of the exhaust under my car for figment reasons. Vibrant headers seem better planned out than Skunk2 which ultimately swayed me to go Vibrant. Very happy so far. Quieter than Skunk2 70mm but loud enough to enjoy. Good power gains with the complete setup. I did have to get FlashPro to turn off 2nd O2 sensor and starting tuning a variety of parts. I wish now that I had made FlashPro my first mod. Oh well, live and learn.

Well, I have to say that I just got done installing the catback exhaust (Skunk2 MP R 70mm) with my best friend's help. I also have to say that I LOVE IT! I cranked the car for the first time with the exhaust and the tone was so nice. My friend was also very impressed with the end result. I can actually tell the difference too when driving, on sound and performance. Next stop...air intake installation, maybe next month.

I've had the skunk2 70mm for a few days now, and I still love it. I have to admit that it is loud, mostly on gears 1-4, but 5th and 6th is not that bad at all. Most of my driving is highway so it doesn't bother me at all. I mean, it is still loud in highway but more of a deep sound. I'm really pleased with the exhaust though. Next thing will be air intake, then probably hfp body kit.

Ya! it is fairly loud, especially when you first get installed, since your not used to it. Also, its not that loud to where you have to crank up your music. I think that's a little exaggerated. Just my .02. Congratulations on the wonderful, well made exhaust.

Thank you all for the comments. It's been a little over a week now and I still love it. Even some people at my job said that the car sounds awesome. I'm really pleased with it. The exhaust is now making me want the Skunk2 header lol. That will have to wait though. As you all know, the Skunk2 header is a bit pricey. Plus, I really want the HFP lip kit.
