why? if the exhaust pulses are properly tuned to work with unequal length runners they can be just as efficient as equal length.

subarus make plenty of power on UEL header. tuning two cars back to back one with UEL header and one with EL header, as long as both are well engineered parts and flow equally they should make very close to the same power and torque with very comparable flow. its been done. i personally dont care for the UEL sound but thats just me.

Matt
flow equally? unequal length headers?
wtf are you rambling about?

I'm not going to argue with you think what you want.

I`m driving around with an unequal length header on my European 2008 FN2 CTR.

Manufactured by AAS exhausts co uk. This company specializes in race and rally exhaust systems, as well as exhausts for motobikes.
I works fine, especially at high rpm.

Funny, how the grass is always greener on the other side.

Most high HP subies switch from UEL to EL to squeeze out that little extra HP.

Stick to a well designed long tube or 4-1 header, and stop being a ricer and trying to be something you are not.

Hopefully it'll make it sound like a subaru but the boxer engine also contributes to that....sigh :sadbanana:

Damn just watched the video. That sounded BEAST. Thought it was a subaru until I heard the VTAK crossover.
actually the boxer engine has nothing to do with the sound, The extremly un-equal length exhaust manifold and turbo are what creates the distinct WRX/STi sound. One of the exhuast manifold tubes is like 2.5 ft long from one side and the other is not even 6 inches long before both combining at the up pipe leading to the turbo.

If you put equal length headers on a WRX/Sti and full turbo back exhaust it sounds the same as the average ricer boy honda with a fart can exhaust.

Once you put equal length headers on you loose ALL remanance of the WRX/Sti boxer sound.

Thank you for getting it right.

And Subaru tuning shouldn't be applied here. They don't see big improvement with equal length because 1: the heads don't flow worth a jam and are the limiting factor and 2: the runners are so long that from a turbo stand point length starts to become irrelevant.

From a equal vs non standpoint, equal is generally better. As the above euro one, you can do 2 different primary lengths to try and benefit different rpm points, but it becomes so subtle at that point, its generally not prefered.

Nevermind that the avg Honda is NA and the equal length helps with the scavenging effects at high rpm usage which is what VTEC motors are all about

If you want to run a crappy head, unequal lengths headers and sounds like a 4cyl motor that had the number 3 cyl go dead buy a stock subaru

Hondas = high rpm screamers aka bike sound....

10K+rpm with no rasp > 7k scoobie farts

The key with Hondas is tuning out the rasp freqs which can be done easily if you try....ricers slap tubes on and sound like ish because they are clueless.

Dont be clueless

Equal length > Unequal length

Plus talking about low end torque below VTEC on an NA Honda is retarded....you dont build a rev happy inline motor to focus on the 2-4k rev range...instead of buying some custom unequal length header for 1000+ just grab yourself a 2.2L+ block instead of building a dinky 1.6L motor lol...the results will be much better in terms of torque production lol
