Can you guys please help me , i want to upgrade my stock system , ive researched alot! tryng to understand between all the different options prices and comparing them to my needs and budget.

So far ive got the head unit decided , i want it to be a Pioneer DEH-4200UB

Pioneer DEH-P4200UB Car MP3 CD Players - In-Dash Receivers at Onlinecarstereo.com

Front Ive been reading Components is the way to go so i chose the type r`s 17s
Alpine SPR-17S Component Systems - Car Speakers at Onlinecarstereo.com

Rears type r`s 17c too
Alpine SPR-17C Full Range Car Speakers - Car Speakers at Onlinecarstereo.com

Subwoofer , Ive had my taste of bass with 2 12`s and was too much so i want to use my stock sub if thats possible! or something under 100 that will work and perform better

OK so on to the questions!
1.Will the deck i chose perform well with the speakers?

2. is it crucial to have an aftermarket amp as of this moment(budget wise ) or can i use the stock one mean while (hoping to out perform premium system) ?

3.What amp can i have for this setup if i need it , i want something under 200 , ?

this one maybe :Alpine MRP-F300 4 Channel Amplifiers - Car Amplifiers at Onlinecarstereo.com

4. installation wise , will i need the same harness , antenna adpater as stated in dvd DIY`s what else will i need ?

thanks !

1) yes if you power them right all will be good, but id personally stay away from the Type-Rs, ive never heard a set that sounded good, on HU power to a good solid 150W

2) no its not absolutely critical to get an amp on it as it is, but what I did was put in a PDX-5 along with my IVA-W505 when it went in and I was amping stock speakers and stock sub through the PDX-5 off the new W505 and they sounded great for the few months I had it in before swapping out the rest, starting with the fronts and then the subwoofer, then much later the rears (another idea to save some money, no rears, if you dont have rear seat passengers too often you can definately get away with it), but thats after I decided to run the fronts active on a 2-amp setup. . . so IMO it makes more sense to amp the stockers for the time being (it also helps save the trouble of amp integration) that way youll have proper power to the aftermarket speakers from the moment they go in

3) the F300 is a decent amp, not the greatest or anything, but for the money its not bad

4) OK so premium system installs get harder, what you can do (if you dont take my 'amp the stockers then buy speakers' method) is either bypass or integrate into the factory amp, theres topics all about it so go ahead and search for them, but again, I did it my way and all I needed was a passive crossover for the factory components up front, thats it. . . otherwise its the same antenna adaptor, the same dash kits, and I believe the same main power harness

OK so since yesterday ive had some help from complex1 about the whole setup and what could work better , so he pretty much convinced me of getting this set up which i am going to :

Deck : Pioneer DEH-P4200UB Car MP3 CD Players - In-Dash Receivers at Onlinecarstereo.com

Front:Alpine Type S 600c , components with integrated x-overs

Rear : Alpine Type S 600 , coax`s

Amp: Pioneer GM-D9500F 4ch 800 watt

Wiring : im getting this wiring kit for dual amps , so down the line when i have the money to buy a sub setup ill hook the two amps :

Now as far as a sub , i dont have the money to do it right now so my next question is :

1: can i use my stock sub with this new setup ? how?

2 : any input as far a wiring , tips ? , etc...

Please don't get those Alpine speakers. Alpine in my experience are not that great in my opinion. PLEASE PLEASE do not get those! The amp and headunit are fine. Here are my recommendations for something in your price range.

KS 6006 - ARC Audio 6.5" Component Set

CL-61A/TW-24 - CDT Audio Classic 6.5" 2-Way Component Speakers

D363.5 - Diamond Audio 6.5" Component Set

RS6 / RS6A - DLS 6.5" 2-Way Component System

CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System

RE6.5 COMP - RE Audio 6.5" 2 Way 4 Ohm RE Series Component Set

Also, if I were you, I would not worry about getting rear coax speakers and invest that money in getting better components and amp for your components. I think that will make your system sound better overall. If you own your car, then you drive your car, and if you drive your own car, you mainly if not only hear the front speakers, not the back.

i dont know probably 3 months or more but i will def use the stock sub some how!

that head unit can actually be wired to power a modest sub. See page 44 of the owner's manual. Might try hooking the deck up to the factory sub to see how it sounds?
yeah has 3 sets so i know you can the real question is how ? i would mind just running nuw wires and plugging em right into the sub then running them... where?

Trust me man... for me, life is music and music is my life. I'm only 23 years old but I know good music and good speakers when it enters my ears. I've been playing piano since I was 5, violin since 12, organ at 13, guitar at 14, and drums starting at 18. Taken many music theory classes throughout middle, high and college so my ears are trained to LISTEN to sounds. I'm not saying I'm sometype of musical prodigy or beethoven, but really, i do know what sounds good and what does not.

My friends and I have gone through many many different car audio setups since we got our first cars at the age of 16. I've been blessed to be able to experience first hand all different brands of speakers from Sony Xplods, Rockford Fosgate, Clarion, Alpine, Pioneer, Diamond Audio, Diesel Audio, Audiobahn, Lightning Audio, Audison, MTX, Arc Audio, Boston Acoustics, Panasonic, Dual, Bazooka bass tubes, Arc Audio, JL Audio, Memphis, Kicker, MB Quart, Focal, and RE Audio.

I'm not saying that I've heard every speaker that exists from each and every company, but I do know that there are much better speakers than Alpine speakers. Alpine speakers are not as bad as I may make it sound, but in my opinion, there are much better speakers out there for the same exact price, so why not spend that same money on a better product right? As for Alpine having solid reviews "everywhere", those reviews that you've been reading are probably on some audio distributors website to persuade you to buy their products, or just some naive high school kids whos first system in their cars just happens to be alpine products(cause they sell them at Best Buy) and obviously, even the most inexperienced ears could tell the difference between any stock car speakers vs. Alpine.

As for the rear speakers, there will not be much of a difference in terms of bass if you upgrade them, unless you can fit 6x9s and of course have an amplifier. Honestly, if you have the Premium Audio system with the honda subwoofer, I personally think that is enough bass. Turn the sub up a little to +1-2 and leave the treble and center on the front components. As I've said before, leave the rear speakers stock, invest in better components up front and a better amplifier for it.
well i personally only heard high end bose and harman kardon , then alpine i know they have an awwwsome rep i mean when i was growing up alpine was the ****! if you had alpine u were pimpin thats why im looking at the alpines plus i think they are fine for my ears which i cant tell the difference that much.... now as far as your reccomendations they are way more expensive than the alpines ... so its really not in my budget , amazon has the alpines for 78$ components and 58$ coaxs and then to only get components would be a budget of 130 for a component set which still i cant buy any of your recomendations :/

now buying coax is really gonna depend how much money ima get for xmas

just a bit of FYI, Harmon does make aftermarket speaker systems for mobile audio, they do it under the Infinity and JBL names (Harmon/Kardon owns the both) ;)

otherwise I agree with most of the post, I love my alpine Headunit (and all the ones before it), but wouldnt touch their speakers, I did run their subs in the past and was happy with them (an old single Type-E, and one of those PLV-7 LAT systems), their amps are also pretty good stuff, I ran their old V12 line in the last car and the original build of this car was around a PDX-5, and liked them. . . Alpine speakers on the other have always disapointed me in showrooms and other cars ive heard them in

and of that lot of recomendations I like the Bostons, I currently have Boston SX65s on my rear fill powered by their own little bitty JBL amplifier and they really sound good when I jump into my back seat for a listen, up front though its all about my Focal front stage on their own JL 300/4, though the smoother small soft tweeters of the Bostons do compliment them quite well without taking away any emphasis from the big bright kevlar tweeters up front

well yeah im def on a tight budget considering im thinking of , deck , amp , 2 sets of speakers front and back , wiring , and probably prof installation , so that puts me over 600 $ adn the deck isnt even dvd! , so lately im just thinking of starting with a dvd deck , then moving on to front speakers and so on !

about the speakers ill consider the new options , maybe for black friday cybermonday they drop in price .

anyways yes ive heard harmans on a rolls royce phantom and they sound great , and i also knew they owned jbl and inf .
