I just bought a 2008 Civic Hybrid and was wondering if there are any options for remote starter? Is it possible on an engine like this? I can't find an answer by search. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! I'm a newbie...this is my first Honda...I love it!

an interesting theory. . . id say it IS possible, but not very common

it would do the same as a starter on a full petrol motor but it would be starting the electric motor instead, with it being a push button starter it may well be easier, youd probably set the unit to voltage sense to stop 'cranking' since obviously you arent cranking over a starter motor, and nor would you have a tach signal to read succesful start up. . .

this sort of thing would only really work for summer time though since the electric motors can spin the A/C compressor, but they cant heat up coolant for the heater to work properly without the petrol motor spinning and generating heat, but I guess eventually either way the petrol is going to fire up since I assume the batteries wont sustain full systems all that long

well no car does unless you leave the heater settings to on before you turn off the vehicle...same with the A/C then the next time you startup the vehicle the heater is running.

I have an Autostart Remote car starter and it runs flawlessly, car is nice and mosty toasty when I start it, and in summer its nice and cool. You gotta remember to leave your heater or A/C setting to on.

I have yet to see a remote starter turn on the A/C or Heater on its own.
