Check Engine light P0011

As the title says I am getting a check engine light, P0011. The motor is a K24A2 with IPS KME cams and tuned with a Haltech standalone. The car will idle really rough right around 800-900 rpms and be on the verge of dieing. Other then that the car seems to drive just fine. Well it will pop and back fire like every time I let off the throttle, but that could be a completely unrelated issue. I have done some searching and am just having issues understanding what could be causing this code and where to start looking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well P0011 has to do with your valves so that leads back to your aftermarket cams.
The popping is coming from your valves opening up at the wrong time while the fuel and air mix is still trying to burn in the cylinders. Double check that everything was installed properly, the valve lash is set properly and find a different tuner and maybe a better engine management system; well that's where i'd start.

Did some more reading through the TSX service manual. It reccomended first checking the VTC strainer for any clogs. It was all good so the next step is to check the VTC Oil Control Solenoid Valve. Just my luck it sits right under my engine mount. I happened to have just loaned out my floor jack to, so I cant even see if I can get at it from under the car.

Isn't that always how things go... haha

How many miles on your timing components?

I did a bit of searching and I found this, p0341 from a stretched chain... you probably saw it.

also found a thread for a guy getting p0111 or p0011...but didn't grab the link... his car was stock and had a stretched chain that jumped time suddenly. I think he had 140k and it would throw the code immediately after resetting it. Granted this is all on the stock ECU though.... so if the VTC all checks out good then I still think this is the next logical step.

I ask because I recently had an Odyssey at the dealer that I got boned on lol. Was pertaining too the vtc solenoid, had a different code ( I know its different than the system on these engines but it still works off oil pressure) It stored a code for the solenoid, but was an intermittent issue so it would pass the vtc test on the scan tool. It had correct oil pressures and all readings were right with the system. Turned out that the aftermarket oil filter was causing the issues. put on a factory filter and everything was fine. It had correct oil pressures at the solenoid and filter but I guess didnt have enough flow and was causing the rocker arms to get stuck in the on position when you'd get off the highway.

I haven't looked as to what honda suggests with your exact code but I could get the diag tree for you when I go back to work if you'd like.

Has anybody gotten more info on this problem. My car is doing the same thing except mine won't start at all now. The crank turns but the motor won't turn over. I replaced the VTC solenoid and about to do the crank shaft position sensor. If it isn't that, I am assuming it jumped timing.

Alright like the title says,
here is a long story short, about a week ago my car threw a code for a VTC system malfunction (P0011) which also is cam angle advanced. Before i got to do anything, the next day the car had no power and I had to give it throttle to keep it from stalling out. I limped it home and now it wont even crank over. I replaced the VTC solenoid and it is still doing the same thing. It doesn't even try to crank over, it cranks like the fuel pump fuse is out, but the fuel pump does prime (the tac does move off zero to around 100roms, so it is getting signal to the crank). It has a stock bottom end with Skunk2 Stage cams (version 3) which have about 30,000 miles on them. My next step was going to be replacing the crank position sensor, and if that doesn't do it, I am going to assume the car is out of timing and I am really screwed. If anyone has any more knowledge or input on what to do, it would be really helpful at this point.

I check the compression already, and it read 170 all the way across the motor, so it didn't bend a valve, which made me rule out a timing issue but now I am thinking it could of just jumped a tooth, but I don't know. I had to limp it home around 10 miles so I feel like it would of broke something in that time frame.
Could it be a tensioner?????
