Mounts were tested on our shop SI. We tested them on the track and in daily driving conditins. In fact they are still on our car, no problems with oil pan.

 

Good to know. How long have you been running them on the Si? And what do you have for power adders. I'm concerned about the LARGE amount of motor tourque I will be applying to them from the turbo in my car. I'm worried that the extra stress from the boost will possibly raise the risk of cracking the oil pan. Especially since I drag it alot at the track. But if it's been running like that for a long while with no issues I might make the move for your mounts and unload the ETD.

 

We have them on for close to 6,000 miles now. Our shop car is pure stock at this point.

 

why not upgrade the oil pan while your at it if your worried about it?

 

Upgrade it to what? A titanium one? There is no upgrade for the oil pan. It's either the stock one or....... the stock one bro......If there was a way to strengthen it, I would but I can't TIG weld as of yet. And I wouldn't even know where to add strength to it. I'm sure it would be fine but I really don't want to risk it till this is paid off and it's not my daily driver anymore. Ya know? When I take the motor out after I own it outrightt and rebuild it with forged internals I will figure out the oil pan.

 

no 5zgen has an upgraded oil pan for the fd2 its for sure baffled but i dont know it its thicker or thinner than oem but it'd be worth checking into no? i would imagine there wouldnt be any fitment issues

 

I know it's a never ending battle but I just can't wrap my head around the whole thing. I'm not flaming the R18 owners in any way. I'm just trying to figure out why you wouldn't just get the Si in the first place.

I don't think the FD2 and the FA5 has the same oil pump. I think the FD2 has the same oil pump as the DC5 or K20A2. So the oil pans wont work. But I could be wrong. That would be sweet if it does fit though. Because I'm sure it's baffled better than ours is. Because HyTech has a baffled oil pan for our cars but you have to use the RSX or S2K oil pumps for it to work.

 

yea the baffling on the 5zgen pan is AMAZING its sooo sexy and i think it has different oil pump but i could be wrong too anyone else know?

how many mm's do we have? how many do these replace. I heard mm's are a ***** to put in but its worth it. I would rather replace as many as possible.

You are correct there are five total.

Two main mounts don't have anything to do with wheel hop. We replace the three mounts that prevent engine from twisting.

 

Old thread I know but... Boomba mouts are FREAKING AMAZING!!! I had them on my 500whp SRT-4 and they held that son of a gun to the road and not a single bit on wheel hop. I wouldn't buy anything else for the SRT-4 and now that these are out... i'll buy them for the Si

Plus, there located about 20 minutes from my house .

I'm probably gonna get this instead of an ETD. I just got to save up enough money.

 

i wish they were not shiney tho. a dull black set would do great and i would buy a set but since they dont im going to go with innovative.

I have a set of these and will be installing them on my '08 Si later on this week. I will try to get burnout videos as well, before and after the Boomba motor mounts. Stay tuned.

honestly, i'm surprised they only have that polished color. For the SRT-4 they have Red, Blue, Silver, and Black...

if they did a black i would get it over innovative. im sure we are not the only ones. i dont wanna powercoat something i buy. i just buy it already done. i doubt they can do anything for us tho.

 

If this guy wants to steal business from innovative then I bet he is already working on different colors. If not, i'm in no hurry since I don't really need these until spring.

i think they offer them in 65 75 and 85 shore grade

 

is it me or do they only offer 1 mount. the innovative is the one that offers the 65 75 or 85?
