once i was backing into my driveway slowly caught the front lip on my neighbors concrete flower garden and ended up tearing the front bumper clean off the car LOL just put a few scratches on my lower front lip which i covered with touchup paint. Bam good as new LOL still tore out most of the clips underneath though had to replace those and the bolts in the fenderwells

LMAO my fiance was driving a 03 VW passat. We were in Ocean City, Md and we were leaving a restaurant.... She didn't realize there was a 4inch parking curb infront of her. She nudged it with her tires and dumped the clutch. She ran over the parking curb and the curb was now holding the front of the car up... I had to get out and rock the car back and forth to get the car off the curb. (She'll never live that one down...)

first 2 days i had my car...i dropped the clutch accidently in 1st gear...car jumped forward and hit an ikea shelf which dented my bumper...then a pale fell on my windshield cracking it...first 2 days i had my car...still tire shine on tires from dealership

When I had my old Accord, after a miserable softball doubleheader, to which I contributed several strikeouts, fielder's choices, and the ultimate in rec-league-slow-pitch softball humiliation: the 6-4-3 double play, I was so pissed at myself that I just drove over the things. I threw my stuff in the trunk, slammed it into first, gunned it and threw off the clutch. I had forgotten that the parking lot had those barriers. The crunching and grinding sound was horrible. Once the front wheels came to rest between the 2 barriers, I realized what I had done, and, worse, that my only option at that point was to just keep going straight to get the back wheels over them.

That was not a good night.

My dad had to borrow my car because his Camry wouldn't shift out of park since it was too cold or something, so I let him borrow my car to go to work.

Met up for dinner after and I was able to drive the Camry since it was thawed out or whatever. Saw my parents parking my car and boom! He hit the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. I was so pissed! Didn't say much at dinner. Kept thinking about my poor car.

Got home and looked for any damage. Some light scratches under the front air dam, but it looks like the tow hooks too the "boom" impact. Figured that it's ok and I'll get a better look under the car when it warms up.

Then today, parking at BP to get Subway for lunch, I did the same thing! Arggh! Sounded like the tow hooks again. I hope I didn't hurt anything.

Anyone else have this happen? Damage anything? Seems like you can't run over anything like that, since the tow hooks are in front to take the blow.
Cuz like we all know, you can't see your hood, let alone the front of your car while driving. I'm usually very careful about stuff like this. I guess I was just dazed today or maybe my dad's parking skills rubbed off on me. :rantsmiley:
That's exactly what it is. It has happened to me a couple times and when I looked under the car, the tow hooks were stripped of the paint a little from the front and that was it...

i have a front lip on mine and when i park in front of one of them I always manage to have it about a half inch from it..guess its from driving lowered cars for 5 years..oh and mines not lowered..learned my lesson from the 6 other hondas i had

I did this other day after getting INVO's installed for the summer, I was happy about My new shoes and tried to drive out of the parking spot in front of Me not realizing it has those little barrier deals. It sucked.

I've scraped my tow hooks. They will get some surface rust pretty quickly when the paint comes off. I have wire brushed them and cleaned them, put a piece of cardboard on top of them to control overspray, sprayed them with primer and then black outboard engine paint. Looks good enough.

I've scraped on a curb once, it was angled parking which threw me off. It made an awful sound and I was afraid to get out and look, thankfully it was just the plastic air dam underneath the car and my bumper was fine. Good to see I'm not the only one who hasn't completely gotten used to how short the front of our car is... I'm usually super conservative when parking and end up leaving a couple extra feet.
