If anyone else has any reviews of this dealership, feel free to post them here as well.
<This post is rather long, you've been warned> :readtherules:
Though I've never purchased a car from Antrim Way, I've visited their service department MANY times. I first took my 1992 Accord EX there for service back in 2009 when I moved to the area. Hagerstown Honda apparently marks their parts up over the MSRP, and Antrim doesn't, so they immediately won for parts just on price.
I was generally happy with their service department. They mounted/balanced a set of tires for the Accord and *tried* to do a 4-wheel alignment. Since the car had been wrecked back in the mid 90's (long before I ever bought it), they got everything "as close as they could" to spec.
My valve cover gasket started to leak on the Accord, which they fixed. Less than 24 hours after being repaired, the camshaft seal was leaking...as in 1+qt leaked in about 300 miles. They fixed this. Within a week, I had another oil leak. At this point, I gave up and decided to sell the car and buy an 8th Gen EX Coupe.
Antrim didn't have what I was looking for, so I ended up purchasing a used 2007 Coupe with 69,404mi. from a VW/BMW dealer in Akron, OH in April 2010. I bought an aftermarket extended warranty to cover the car for 3yr/36,000 miles.
Within the first couple months, I noticed lots of noise coming from the rear. Antrim replaced both rear-wheelbearings at 73,828mi. This made the noise quieter. This repair was covered by the warranty.
A month later (80,190mi), I take it back for excessive noise from the rear and an annoying 2nd gear grind and popping out. This time, I'm told its the rear control arms and that they could not replicate grind (nothing wrong). Decided not to fix because the tires were already worn and would wait until replacing them to fix control arms. This repair was not covered by warranty, so I paid the $90 fee for diagnosis.
2 months later (84,977mi.), The 2nd gear grind is still happening. It's popping out of 2nd more often too. After a week, I got a call that they were "unable to replicate the problem". When I went to pick up the car, I asked for someone to go for a test drive with me. First time I tried to downshift, it grinds. 2nd time I downshift, it grinds. I'm told to push the clutch in further (apparently he didn't hear the pedal hitting the floor). Tech drives it and says the synchro is going but "it's not bad enough, yet" since it didn't grind if slammed forcefully into 2nd. Walked away paying $90 fee for diagnosis, AGAIN. They also lost the key to my car, so I was given a new key and told to come back with my other key to have it reprogrammed. This return trip was a nuisance, but I got over it, glad there wasn't a $90 fee for this!
<Around 90,000 miles I installed the Ingalls Rear Camber kit, got the car aligned, and had tires mounted and balanced elsewhere>
At approx. 92,820mi, I returned AGAIN about the 2nd gear synchro. At this point, I'm having trouble getting it to grab 2nd gear at all. Day 1, wouldn't do it for them. Day 2, it does. I'm given back my car while they order parts.
<19 days, 1800mi. later>
They finally get an appointment scheduled and I drop the car off. Just over 48 hours later, I get a phone call that the car is finished and ready to be picked up. This is where I really get frustrated...
2 days after picking it up, its back at the dealer because not everything was put back together quite right. 11 miles from the dealer, I got a CEL, which a stop at Advance Auto told me was P0404 - EGR Performance. When I popped the hood, I found it unplugged. And the closer I looked, the more little things I found. Airbox not bolted down, plastic pins missing, coolant reservoir empty, power steering reservoir overflowing, gaps in trim that weren't there before (I noticed trim at the dealership before I left...the piece wasn't even snapped down, it was just laying there, so they snapped it down but it still doesn't fit right, possibly because of the missing pins?)
^ CEL & mileage
^ Unplugged EGR
^ Bolt on front of Air-box, not even started to thread in.
^ Bolt on lower-back of Air-box, again, not even started to thread in.
^ Missing clips on Driver's Side cowl piece (surrounding wiper arm)
^ Passenger's side Cowl piece (for comparison)
^Power Steering reservoir overfilled (and overflowing)
^ Coolant reservoir empty, unlike it was just a day before dropping it off. (I checked the radiator, and there was coolant in there at least!)
^ Driver's side cowl piece not aligning with fender.
(This piece was popped up when I picked up the car. It was snapped down, but misaligned before I left the dealership)
^ Passenger's side cowl piece (again, for fitment comparison)
Today, they picked up the vehicle to fix the above list. But after all the trouble surrounding this second gear problem, I'm quite hesitant to return. I've been generally happy with the service department in the past, but this major repair (which thankfully was mostly covered by the warranty) was not "buttoned-up" properly and leaves me questioning what else was hurriedly done and not quite right under the hood of my car.
After being without my car for an additional 5 hours or so, they brought it back and so far it seems they got it right on the second try. Missing a thing or two is one thing, missing several items is another.
As soon as my warranty runs out (in about 10,000 miles), I'm doing ALL the work on my car myself. Rushing a $1500 repair ($750+ in labor alone) and leaving several loose ends doesn't sit well with me.
Well, that's my experience ... Take it for what it's worth.
