I see posts about concerns with things seizing while in winter storage, but COVID also my be another concern if you do not drive regularly. My 2008 SI alternator seized after sitting for a couple months in the driveway, smoked the belt up pretty good. This is not that uncommon, my 2005 Odyssey had the same issue. Neither time it was the bearing, those are sealed and shouldn't be a problem. The clearance between stator and rotor inside alternator is almost nil and a tiny bit of corrosion will seize the alternator. Just take the belt off of the idler pulley and alternator. Use a 14mm wrench and a 1/2" large ratchet or breaker bar for more leverage and pull forward on the tensioner pulley nut enough to slide the belt off. I used a pipe wrench with a shop rag over the alternator pulley and broke it loose. Now wd40 isn't the best option, but it is what I had on hand, spray inside the alternator vents under the coil. Turn the pulley a few times, it should turn, but may not be too easy. Put the belt back on and try starting the car. It may make a little noise at first, but as long as the belt is turning the pulley and the car is charging, you're in good shape. Let it run for 15 minutes, both of my cars ran smooth and quiet after that.
Saved me a couple hundred bucks and a day working on the car.
