Hello everybody, new here.

Was gifted an 08 coupe 5 speed. Working on getting it fixed up (it’s pretty rough as you can imagine)

Anyways, the issue it’s having is the passenger airbag off light by the radio is blinking. It is not flickering, it is clearly blinking on and off at a set interval. The SRS and SIDE AIRBAG OFF lights go on and off again as they should when starting the car, which is strange since there is clearly something wrong. Is there some specific meaning to this light blinking?

I tried checking for SRS codes by jumping the pins on the obd2 port, it didn’t give me any.

Having a passenger doesn’t change anything either.

Any ideas? Thanks

Forgot to add, wires under the passenger seat are hanging down so somebody else was trying to figure it out at some point. All the connections are solid.

I’ve been searching for some time in forums, only other post I could find with what seemed to be the same issue on a 9th gen, and sending his SRS module in for a reset seemed to fix it.

I know the sensors or wiring for them in the passenger seat is a common problem but generally that causes the main SRS light to come on I believe. I read something about calibrating the seat weight sensors, not really DIY-able if that happened to be the issue. Just hoping somebody has some insight to share. Don’t wanna send the module for a reset if it won’t fix the issue, obviously.

Car was in an accident at some point, the whole front end and driver door are not original. Maybe this could contribute?

I just feel it is strange that the issue isn’t causing the main SRS light to be on.
