I just bought the 2006 Honda Civic yesterday from a private owner. I just noticed that the "Pasenger Airbag" off light is blinking non stop even when there isn't anyone sitting in that seat. It's the light under the radio, not on the cluster.

uh oh..
I think I just noticed that the "Airbag with the person" was either hidden or something.. I see 2 red dot next to the "side airbag" icon and stays on.. I'm guessing the airbag module is bad or something? Anyway to fix it? I couldn't really tell until today..

edit: Here's a photo of my instrument/cluster with the red dot circled in white.

Well, I unplugged the battery for an hour, reconnected, Light is still on. I did the "yellow" plug that erase the memory, still light on. I checked both the passenger and driver side seat belt, both are working properly, just don't know how to check if there's airbag or not. But I'm wondering could it be the airbag module problem?

When I had my 06 EX I hit something in the road causing my SRS light to come on. I took it to the dealer and they reset the warning and then it came on again when I nailed a pothole. BTW Im not a crappy driver. I was going to replace the sensor as a whole, as suggested by my boyfriend and the master tech that looked at my car. I got rid of the civic before I could remedy the problem before I could fix.

Is dealer the only thing I can do? Right now, in my mind, I'm thinking about the SRS Unit is bad. Although this car is salvaged, I think everything was replaced, including airbag, except the unit I'm thinking. I tried the 2 pin, but it won't shut down the light, not giving me any error codes or I don't know how to diagnose for the error codes.
