Well these days it's not like before. Our cars are equipped with immobilisers which has a chip in our keys that sends a signal to the ecu which would be harder to steal. It's not like before where you can just use a different ecu. The only way to do this is (which I doubt is going to happen) to go to the dealership and ask them if you can get another ecu with the same code numbers as your original ecu.

Why I doubt this will happen because they're gonna ask you why do you want another one, why would you take it off, and it might affect your warranty because you're tampering w/ the ecu which might affect the motor and electronics, etc. Also, it might look suspicious because they might thing you're trying to steal another SI.

Call around some salvage yards, like Import Auto Salvage in NC. They probably have one.

You're going to have to find a dealer that will program that ECU to your car though.
