From my understanding Hondata has only an ECU reflash for our cars right now. My problem with this is it seems like what's called a "canned" tune. A universal tune for everyone's Si. Well, all cars are created different. Why not just take your car to a shop, and get it tuned specifically for your car? Why are we limited to just Hondata's canned tune? Can't a shop with the right stuff plug into our ECU's and lower VTEC engagement, and raise redline, and adjust a/f mixtures? Do a friggin' car specific dyno tune? What's so special about the Honda ECU than from a Mustangs? (keep domestic hating down please).

"Honda encrypts the file that is used for overwriting the data stored in the ECM. As a result, the J2534 software that Honda sells merely passes data through a J2534 compliant hardware device and to the ECM. The software and hardware do not modify the file to be written to the ECM. They essentially check the version of the file on the ECM and compare it to the file to be written to see if the file to be written is a newer version and allowed to be passed over."
