Recheck the wiring. Make sure the power wire is ran seperate from the remote and rca wires. Make sure the remote wire is connected to a valid source. I have mine ran into the radio fuse. Check out the ground wire. Make sure there is no paint at the ground site. If you have a premium audio system, make sure your subs aren't connect to anything but the after market amp. Connecting them to the factory amp will produce adverse sounds. Are you still using the factory deck? If so, the deck wattage may not be up to par with what you have hooked up to it. If all else fails, go see a specialist and have them run a check for you.

i noticed this when i put component speakers in my other car. it whistled through the crappy speakers, such as the tweeters, and its picking up your engine revs. it gets louder as your revs do. check for grounds and if you still have stock speakers/tweeters change them to better ones.

From your description it sounds like alternator whine. Does the "whistle" change frequency with engine RPM? If so, it's alternator whine.

The other posts here give good advice on things to check. If none of those fix it, you can try installing a choke filter. Most any electronics stores (even Radio Shack) will sell them for a few bucks each. You would install it in-line with the power wire.

Good luck!
Larry.
