08 FA5 here, only modification is Flashpro with basemap running. FP is a great mod for even a stock SI, BTW. Awesome.

I’m looking at getting the Vibrant 4-2-1 header w/ HFC. Getting the one with the cat for inspection/emissions reasons (PA). My first question is how much louder will the car be with the header hooked up to the factory downpipe/muffler? Has anyone else used this combo before?

Second question is will it be worth getting a tune immediately afterwards, or is the Hondata map good enough to hold me over until I potentially get an intake (K&N Typhoon maybe) installed? Basically I’m wondering how much better the tune will be compared to the generic header map. Thanks!

You won't need a tune until you get deeper into mods. Just stick with the base maps that hondata offers. When you get the base bolt on's done then consider etune.

DO ITTTTT. in for the vid!

n how long u been running it? people say that the baffles in the stock exhaust will wear out eventually giving way to the ricer "can o' bee's" sound
Not too long. About 2 months. I've heard that as well.
Yes, please. I'd like to hear it.
All right, I will try to record it later tonight if my bro helps me.

The tone is definitely different and it doesn't seem much louder. That's what I'm looking for. Thanks for posting the vid :clapping:
Yeah it sounds really nice. I was in a covered parking lot yesterday and with the echo it sounded quite nice.
That would sound superb with the Q300. I'm all for the HFC option even though you lose some power to the wheels. I'd rather lose a few ponies that get hit with a $300+ fine for loud exhaust.
Yup, it sounded good too when I had my Q300 on.
sounds really good man. is that header all you have done so far?
Thanks, I have a K&N SRI and FlashPro.

I just got the vibrant header w hfc and the q300 installed today with flashpro. It's great. It's actually pretty close to stock but its a lot deeper when you get on it. Btw you def need flashpro becuz I didn't really feel a diff until I loaded a calibration. I also got the rear motor mount so its a but louder in the inside.

FYI- I have the vibrant with cat delete. If you run flash pro, it will pass PA emissions. On our cars, there is no visual inspection, only a check of the obd system.
I have the stock catback, and aside from a tiny bit of noise at idle reflecting up off the ground, it seems to be no louder. Sounds great!
