I recently checked and adjusted my valve clearance. Checking and re-checking my clearance before re-installing the valve cover and new gasket, using permatex ultra black.

- I want to check my clearance and adjustments (if there has been any movement) . It has been 1 week and all is well. No leaks no problems that I can attest to.
- My question is, If I open up the valve cover again, will I need to use a new gasket again? I will of coarse remove the old Permatex and re-apply.

base on my knowledge you dont have to replace it. i took the valve cover off my s2k many times and never had it leak on me. one thing i always did though, after putting the valve cover back on and re-torquing everything, i let the car sit for 30mins before starting it
