been reading this thread lots of good info... I'm kinda on the fence with whether i should go with the 06-08 tsx cams or an aftermarket drop-in... i have rick-spec'd intensity sri, tax throttle body, RRC manifold (soon to be ordered), RDX injectors, Buddy club race header, and vibrant exhaust... seems like to next logical step would be to add some cams but just can't decide one which ones to get since i would like this to be a do it right the first time process ... decisions decisions

the only advantage to a more expensive DIC is that they make more horse power from mid range to top end and you can always upgrade the valvetrain down the road to raise your rev limiter. TSX cams offer a better DD cam to me with its intended power improvement area in the low to mid range

Well I had my mind set on the kelford DIC before I bought your tsx cams, but if I did not have money issue I would of gotten the kelford DIC... Chris from clubs rsx made some huge power off their race cams and that power was made in Colorado were air is lacking do to highaltitude. And yes power can be found all thru 9

So a buddy of mine is planning on installing the TSX cams, and I'm going to go with the kelfrod stage 1s (on stock valvetrain). Hopefully this will pan out and I can post some before and after dyno results for both our setups.

I'm about to place the order tomorrow. What do you guys think (btw, these will be paired up to my Skunk2 header, aem CAI, and full race exhaust):

kelfrod stage 1 cams on stock valvetrain (not planning to rev that high anyways)
RRC Intake manifold (not ported)
J35 throttle body with spacer
NST pulleys
NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs (4) Cold - Heat Range 7
hondata intake manifold gasket
RDX Injectors or DeatschWerks 600CC Injectors (input?)
DeatschWerks or Walbro fuel pump (input?)


My buddy's planning to run the same on his with the tsx cams instead.

If I had to guess, that ~10 whp is coming from the cams. All the other mods you listed are simply there to allow them cams to get what they are capable of. For example, the RDX injectors and DW pump aren't really going to add any power, just give you headroom on your fuel delivery capability.

J35 and RRC IM, with stock cams, would probably produce little if any gains, depending on the tune quality, but will be nice compliments to maximize the gains you get from the Kelford cams.

I guess the pulley set will free up some hp though. I dunno, Vit gave a guess, its probably hard being asked that kind of question haha, so many variables affect the results. Plus, if your whole hp curve gets bumped up 10-15 hp over the full RPM range, that's something you'll feel.
