TSX cams need help please

Hi,
Im interested in purchasing a set of 2006-2008 tsx intake and exhaust cams. Im new to cams, so any help would be appreciated.

Current Modifications:
-2008 Civic Si Sedan
-stock k20 engine
-AEM CAI V2
-Skunk2 header
-Fullrace 3" exhaust
-boomba motor mounts
-flashpro

my questions are:

-are tsx cams drop and go? no other engine mods needed? (aside from flashpro of course)
-how much do these cost brand new?
-whats a reputable place/website to you buy these from?
-how much do they cost to install?
-if you have a similar setup as mine, what performance gains did you make? feel free to share any dyno results
-how will these perform with a stage 2 supercharger?
-how will these perform with a skunk2 intake manifold and throttle body?
-how do these cams effect fuel economy?

thanks for your help.

i can't convince you people that these cams are worthless to spend your money on.

IF YOU'RE GOING TO RIP INTO YOUR MOTOR AND PUT CAMS, DON'T PUT TSX CAMS.

What's the point?
I see where your coming from, do it once do it right. I believe the reason why people are so interested in these cams is because they're OEM. Why are they so hard to get if people don't like them? RRC's/Honda throttle bodies are in crazy demand.

I guess non-aggressive modders like going the Honda route for that little extra. It's why i always wanted to get my hands on a set. Honestly, it does give me some sense of relief and I am well aware of the performance I sacrificed by going this route.

I agree with you, these are still stock cams.
nothing will solve this debate better than posting up some dynos.

Good luck this Friday Si.

For those that prefer non-OEMs, post up some before and after dynos and let the results speak for themselves.
I would love for TSX cams to gain some kind of noticable power. But truthfully after talking to a couple of tuners, those 179-a's should be looking KILLER for you guys right now. They seem to make some pretty damned good power without needing a valvetrain!

It's just, I think i could justify TSX cams on an 02-04 rsx (poo poo cams) but on ours i just don't see too much benefit.
Thanks for the iTrader help Congerorama.

Dyno day for SiSoldier tomorrow. Hooray!:vtec:
Dyno day!FAIL

I was pulled over on my way to tuning for....WINDOW TINT!!#[email protected]*#*! I was doing 40mph in a 45 when out of nowhere i see the lights. He saw/heard my exhaust and of course asked me to pop open my hood. No tickets, but my car has to be taken to the state ref for motor/smog equipment alteration because my cold air intake has no carb sticker and tint. I wished for a ticket.

I'm moving out of cali as soon as i get my degree!

LOL man, Cali sucks... move to FL. You still get beaches and palm trees, but they DGAF about emissions :thumb:
Yep! Unfortunately I'm not there any longer... But crapHIO doesn't have them neither, lol.

hahaha high speed pursuit butt dyno ftmfw! I ended up turning back and going home since the shop is less than 20 miles. It was way too early to have that *****r ruined my day : (
let's get back on topic...I never get pulled over, must have been all that extra low end power from these cams lol
ok, so you did get them installed, just not tuned/dynoed?

Yes they are installed but further tuning is required.

Not sure if you mentioned this earlier...Can you comment on how they feel below vtec and at vtec? Any noticeable power gains? How's idling? WOT?

This is all "qualitative" data and I know we want "quantitative", but just curious.
I'll be interested to hear how they are before/after the tune. Keep up posted Soldier, there are many of us who are looking forward to it!

Damn i didn't know Cali is that bad with modifications. Thats one place im crossing off my list
do you need to enlarge your intake manifold and throttle body to see any gains with these or any cams. I have basic bolt ons but don't know if the RRC/J35 is worth the money right now
