TSX cams need help please

Hi,
Im interested in purchasing a set of 2006-2008 tsx intake and exhaust cams. Im new to cams, so any help would be appreciated.

Current Modifications:
-2008 Civic Si Sedan
-stock k20 engine
-AEM CAI V2
-Skunk2 header
-Fullrace 3" exhaust
-boomba motor mounts
-flashpro

my questions are:

-are tsx cams drop and go? no other engine mods needed? (aside from flashpro of course)
-how much do these cost brand new?
-whats a reputable place/website to you buy these from?
-how much do they cost to install?
-if you have a similar setup as mine, what performance gains did you make? feel free to share any dyno results
-how will these perform with a stage 2 supercharger?
-how will these perform with a skunk2 intake manifold and throttle body?
-how do these cams effect fuel economy?

thanks for your help.

Steve shared a link that helps to identify true 06-08 TSX cams. Might as well share it with everyone here:

Thanks for the info. Seems like the ones for sale sold were either missing the "R2/R5" markings, or the guy just didn't take pictures of them. Either way, they're sold.
Thanks for posting this info. I had the for sale thread up, wish I would have seen this before I boxed up and shipped them. I'm guessing those R2/R5 markings were on the other side of the shaft from the "IN/EX" markings that were in my photos. I didn't know to look for those, or would have definitely taken a photo.

Hopefully the buyer takes a look when they arrive and confirms. I got the cams from a reputable seller myself, and had no reason to suspect they were not TSX cams. And I personally would never sell something dishonestly. If the buyer is reading this thread, hopefully they take a look once they receive them; if there is anything suspect, please contact me so we can get it resolved. I don't suspect anything amiss, but now that we have a way to confirm for sure the camshaft I wish I could have done it before shipping.

Thanks Steve! I can see the 2nd ring in a couple of my pics, so the cams are legit (whew!).

Sorry it didn't work out mescay, by the time you had contacted me, I had already sent a request for payment to the first person who said they'd take them. You did offer more money, but none-the-less I thought it would be a d!ck move as a seller to immediately cancel since I had already agreed to sell to that person. Just keep an eye out, I actually got my hands on them not by looking for a for sale thread (since they go so fast!), but instead putting up a wanted thread on here and k20a.org. Good luck my man! I want to see more and more people put up dynos, these TSX cams are an interesting beast to say the least :thumb:
Well, waffling between getting a different set of drop-ins, and just super charging. I'd go cams, but it means a road trip to a shop somewhere, since no one in New Mexico knows a damn thing about the K20 engine (apparently). And I know I'll super charge eventually (I can do a S/C kit install myself), so who knows.
It looks from the picture linked before that it is on the exhaust camshaft only. The intake camshaft only has a single ring :thumb:

Couldn't tell you man :( This thread was educational for me, I learned everything I know about it (which isn't much LOL) by reading the link provided earlier. Steve may be able to answer for you though!
LOL man, Cali sucks... move to FL. You still get beaches and palm trees, but they DGAF about emissions :thumb:
10whp with all those mods? seems like barely noticeable power gains
If I had to guess, that ~10 whp is coming from the cams. All the other mods you listed are simply there to allow them cams to get what they are capable of. For example, the RDX injectors and DW pump aren't really going to add any power, just give you headroom on your fuel delivery capability.

J35 and RRC IM, with stock cams, would probably produce little if any gains, depending on the tune quality, but will be nice compliments to maximize the gains you get from the Kelford cams.

I guess the pulley set will free up some hp though. I dunno, Vit gave a guess, its probably hard being asked that kind of question haha, so many variables affect the results. Plus, if your whole hp curve gets bumped up 10-15 hp over the full RPM range, that's something you'll feel.
How much are you guys paying for your Kelford DIC's? / where are you getting them from?
Cheapest I am aware of is $675. I just happen to have a mint condition set for sale, for a little less then that, check out my FS thread :thumb:
