Since I have a set of 2005 TSX (K24a2), 2009 Si (k20Z3), and 2008 TSX (K24a2) cams in my room. I might as well make a comparison for you guys. I'll will throw in Skunk2 Stage 1 cams numbers in too.

Measurement from a caliper:

2005 TSX K24a2
Intake Lobes
PRI: 33.4mm
SEC: 33.4mm
VTEC: 35.14mm

Exhaust Lobes
PRI: 33.1mm
SEC: 33.1mm
VTEC: 35.1mm

2009 Si K20Z3
Intake Lobes
PRI: 32.66mm
SEC: 32.82.4mm
VTEC: 35.49mm

Exhaust Lobes
PRI: 32.65mm
SEC: 32.7mm
VTEC: 34.7mm

2008 TSX K24a2
Intake Lobes
PRI: 33.42mm
SEC: 33.42mm
VTEC: 35.52mm

Exhaust Lobes
PRI: 33.09mm
SEC: 33.09mm
VTEC: 35.09mm

Skunk2 Stage 1
Intake Lobes
PRI: 33.9mm
SEC: 34.6mm
VTEC: 36.3mm

Exhaust Lobes
PRI: 34.54mm
SEC: 34.54mm
VTEC: 35.62mm

Intake cam TSX vs Si (TSX VTEC lobe has more duration but about the same lift)
Left side is the Si and the right side is the TSX

Exhaust cam TSX vs Si (Si Vtec lobe has more duration but less lift)

yeah...im interested to see how the go-pwr drop-ins compare in comparison to the TSX cams. go-pwr seems to be a new powerhouse on 8th.

Can't argue with that...

Grow the grass and the cows will eat :D
I would also love to see a KSi vs BP stage 2 on the same motor comparison.
One more thing I just thought about. A lot of guys don't get a tune done on their stock cams. So they are comparing the TSX cams (tuned) to an untuned stock cam base line.

From what I have seen ( I dont have any dyno graphs handy) the TSX cam will only make 3-4hp more than stock cams when you compare them to a tuned set of stock cams.
Good info in this thread.. :coffee: keep adding info if you guys have more...:wavey:
It's pure comedy for companies to refer to their cams in stages. One companies stage 3 may be anothers stage 1.

LOL so true.

Its really fun to get cams and put them on a cam doctor and see what you find

i will be installing tsx cams on my 07. i am fully tuned on stock cams with I/H/E. i will post gains.
I plan on going the same route as Vantage. Gettin my FP for xmas and TSX cams next month.

Awesome. Will be good info for us :)

What do you dyno currently?
heres my most current dyno

Doug from Hondata was only able to do a very quick tune on it during the dyno day. I'm sure my current map with my Cobb AP is much better, it sure feels better.

It won't be as accurate, but rulosi is helping me with an e-dyno baseline with my current AP tune, i'll share that after i've done some 3rd gear runs.

I'm really hoping for 170+ TQ after these cams. Horsepower..? psshhh i want a torque monster :D

Thats a good route. It seems to be the best build for hp/dollar ratio. I'm glad to see others getting TSX cams!

no offense but you bought the wrong car if u want a torque monster lol. i am def considering the tsx cams as well. only thing is im kind of aggreeing with the fella above. i dont wana do this cam swap more than once. i want hp. its a honda. not gonna have crap for low end to begin with but any extra will still help. ive been thinking of going gopower as well. but do not have the funds. i want more HP n/a. if i only gain like 5 peak whp with an 06 tsx cam swap ima be pissed.
Just wait a few weeks and I will install mine and let you know.

Im expecting 10-15whp up top with the mods listed.

haha "torque monster" in honda terms. i havent seen many 2 liter N/A k motors with torque numbers above 180. :dancingcoolsmiley:

the tsx cams are midrange cams, in fact if you look at the dyno from the rsx that installed them (below), the peak torque comes on alot lower, about 1000rpm lower. Which is great for me, but they also work great for your case, as that dyno showed a big hp gain up top as well. So it seems you get the best overall performance from these mild cams. But if the peak torque came later, I bet your hp figure would be even higher. Given that money is an issue, these are still your best bet IMO. Many aftermarket cams will produce far less torque than tsx cams, they simply aren't designed that way.

I would be surprised if you only gain 5whp with tsx cams. (with a tune of course) I too will let you know how mine go, I expect some solid gains.

well put, not to mention you can put a blower on a k motor with TSX cams no problem too
I'm so interested in knowing more about this. I've a not read in this forum about anybody experience with a SC application runing aftermarket cams (TSX, etc.). In fact, I have been told to go to RSX forum to learn about it.

I have a SC application and I need to decided what cams are the best not only looking for highest HPs but firstly realibility, even at the expense of HPs.

Any guidance will be appreciated, so far it seems TSX would be the way to go.
i would use the stock exhaust can and tsx intake cam. the stock (smaller) exhaust cam paired with a bigger intake cam will help with filling and prevent boost from blowing right though the motor.

...just my .02...
I wouldnt worry about blowback unless you are substantially boosted.

a 6-9psi SC kit will not get any blowback.

if you are running 12-15 on an SC or 12+ on a turbo, then maybe you need to watch your exhaust cam.
the tsx intake came and si intake cam are very very similar. barely any difference. its the exhaust cam that has a little higher lift.

i am also waiting to see yours gains as well. i truely wana know and this would be the ultimate deal maker if u get nice gains.
so i was to put in skunk2 pro s valve springs and stock retainers and switch skunk2 stage1 or stage2 cams back and fort with stock si cams would this work. reason why is when comes emission time swapping back oem si cams on pros valve springs would this fail me.
i cant back this up with experience, but you may still be able to pass smog with stage 1 cams with a CAT. i cant see how they call you out on having cams.

if you pass the sniffer and visual (underneath the car) you should be fine
Kenny...

Less emissions chat, more TSX cam review!
