i need a definitive answer, is there ANY way of getting rid of this rev hang forever? i have a fully stock 06 si and plan on keeping it this way, so im having a hard time justify buying something like hondata to do this. will hondata be able to remove this? ive also seen people talking about a TSB that was issued for this problem, and i found “TSB #SB-06-052” that describes “THE ENGINE RPM DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY DROP WHEN SHIFTING GEARS, AND/OR THE VEHICLE SURGES WHEN DRIVING IN 1ST GEAR. THIS IS DUE TO A SOFTWARE CONCERN. 2006 CIVIC SI.” has anyone gone thru the dealer recently and gotten this done? is the tsb window closed? any info would help.

Going through the dealer and doing this would prolly be the same price as buying Hondata lol
Buy hondata. You will still appreciate the tune on a completely stock vehicle.

Buy hondata. You don’t even need to apply like a basemap or anything to delete the rev hang you can just do it. The dealerships could not be more worthless with electrical issues.

I have an 07 SI that is completely stock accept that I had the exhaust resonator removed. What a nice improvement while still running the stock muffler. I would say it reduced the rev hang by 50%, the engine is smoother (less twitchy) and this makes it easier shifting through all gears at any speed.
The rev hang is there for emissions reasons. It's making sure all fuel is burnt.

A lot of modern manual cars have that rev hang now- across all manufacturers.
Hondata is the way to fix rev hang, it's a check box, and if you want EVEN LESS, you can reduce fuel overrun cuttoff delay per gear. So you can get a little bit more hang in first and second in case you want that.
