In my research for this I’ve seen many posts about leaks in the trunk on this form but they all have water accumulating in the spare wheel well where mine does not

I noticed the issue because my rear window would often have so much condensation on it that it would bead and drip down onto the rear deck. As well as my steering wheel starting to disintegrate in my hands due to the humidity.

During the rain today I found wetness in the trunk carpet going all along the edge at the front of the trunk. Checking the trunk lid under the loner I found rust and water droplets where two bolts come through. I think this is where the wing is mounted? (Si Sedan). But I could not tell if the lid liner was wet or not, everything is already cold its winter

Pulling back the carpet from either side of the trunk I found a little well with about 1” deep of water on both sides. In there was also the feeds for the sunroof drains and one way air circulation vents. All of which was dry on both sides
Here of some photos of the areas I’m talking about and a closer look. (Not my photos, my trunk as no rust inside, even where the water is)
In white is where the side wells are with water accumulation
Highlighted blue is where I found damp carpet

What are some steps I should take to resolve this? The photos that weren’t mine are from another user who had accumulation in the same side areas, a lot more than me however and they just drilled a hole to let it drain and didn’t figure out where it was coming from. How accessible are those vents to reseal around the edges from outside?

As for the droplets by the bolts on the lid, could I just out a bead of silicon there? Maybe even seal the wing to the trunk with a small bead of clear silicon to fill the gap on the outside?

Any other places I should check and other suggestions?
Thanks guys

If you search, upi can find a lengthy post I made last yeat.. water accumulates in the exact same place in the back corners you circled... and when they fill up it would spill over, probably sloshing when I drive, into the wheel well and sit trapped under the tire.
No rust in the spot you show..

Never did find the source, I did drill a couple drain holes in the corners, coared with rust prevention primer, and painted to at least allow the water to drain... Ended up buying a car cover that is water-proof.
Haha your post is exactly the one I was referencing and took the photos from. I think that's the route I'll take for that issue. However I think the wet carpet is a different issue I have to locate. Maybe from the wing mount dripping down

I went out and checked mine, not an Si, but the '08 EX Cpe, has a wing like lip on the back edge of the trunk... I thought long agon that might have been where the leak might be.. on the EX there is a thin rubber gasket between lip/spoiler and the trunk, mine is wone and half gone... that lip on mne is held on by 4 bolt/nuts and a couple plastic clips.

Looks a little different than your photo but if its the mount, looks like yours may be missing one of the plastic push/pop in clips or the sted for the nut is broken off.
My wing doesn't have a gasket (anymore). At this point I'm not even confident I am getting water in that area on the carpet. There's still clearly droplets in that picture but it would have to drip through the trunk lid liner to get down there... also feeling the carpet again it was greasy and I recall windshield washer fluid being spilled there in the past.

However after a long hard rain last night I checked again on the sides and there doesn't appear to be any more water accumulated in the wells but I did notice where water had been dripping and splashing on top of the right wheel arch. Not the arch where you see the strut tower in the photos linked but in behind that closer to the outside of the car. On the opposite side I found no drips in that same area but there was rust where the wheel arch and fender intersect, right in the path I'd expect it to roll down and into that well.

Directly above that area on the outside of the car is perfectly flat fender so the only place I can think it's coming from is the water channel on either side of the rear window. But it would have to somehow get pretty far down and to the right/left to arrive where I saw those drips

I also referenced this video, but I don't have any obvious signs of rust or leaking like the video shows

Hopefully all that made sense, thanks for any help and insight so far
