Hi,

So the other day I put a big box in my trunk and i closed it. It opened fine using the key (its an SI so when I say the key, i mean the button on the key....since theres no key hole in the trunk for SI models). Then I closed it again.....when i tried to open it later (with the key) , it sounded like the lock was jammed. I tried pulling the lever below the driver seat (the one to open the trunk and the gas) and nothing happened. I cant get the back seats down....since the only way to do that is from the trunk
CAN ANYONE HELP ME???? IM IN A..........jam hah.

Thanks a lot

mines the sedan and i have a keyhole..

u should try hitting it with some force maybe the things just stuck and it'll pop open if u keep banging on it.. or maybe drive around the block, go hard on the turns --maybe the box is sticking somehow to something in the trunk and this will get the box moving around but i don't know that doesn't even make sense really this is a weird situation ..hope u get it figured out though!!

If you want to do it yourself, you'll have to remove the seat back.

Unfortunately, the first step is to fold down the seat back, which you can't do, because your trunk is stuck. And you have to remove the side trim, which you can't do, because you can't fold down the seat back, which you can't do, because your trunk is stuck.

You can remove the bottom seat cushion. There's one 6mm bolt, located between the seat cushion and the seat back, just left of center as you are facing the rear of the car.

With that clear, you can remove the 8 mm bolts holding on the pivot bracket for the seat backs. CAREFULLY, without damaging the side trim, free the seat back from the release, and fold it down. Now you've got access to the trunk, crawl in there and open it.

OR, you can take it to your dealer. They should *either* warranty *or* goodwill you. (It's a design defect. You aren't alone.)

STOP!

If you can't manage this alone, no shame. But that was the EASY step. If you are finding that tough, the next steps put you in way over your head. Take it in to the dealer.

flip the seats down and use the switch thats oin the inside...

on canadian model si's, there is a keyhole. also a inside the trunk release. there is a light thats always stays on, and it focused on the trunk release...

to me the idea of a truk weaight sensor is absurd, there are no sensors back there, and also im bitter about not having a trunk release....
