ok so my girlfriend just got me the header for christmas. im stoked to put it on and hear it, but my question is......


would it be ok to wrap it in heat wrap or should i just leave it unwraped???

yes it would be ok,but DONT DO IT. not yet, give the header awhile(just to be safe).
when i mean safe, i mean if one of the welds leaks then its much easier to pin point your problem then w/ it heat wraped. Make sure the product is not gonna fail, then heat wrap

im in your same boat. I installed my just this last weekend(i also have heat wrap) but opted not to for reasons above.
Install is a breeze, pm me if you have any troubles on the install.( i took tons of pictures)

heat wrap can cause poor welds to break down faster. If the welding is quality then it would be ok. But I'd wait and see since previous owners have had issues.

I'd also look into Swain Technology for engine piston coatings, race engine coatings, ceramic header coating, carbide metal coatings, thermal spray plasma coating, metalizing closures, spray welding white lighting coatings. I've got my 2.25" down pipe coated with it and once I can get somebody to sell me a stock header/cat it will also be coated.

wate you have 2 spacers, i only got one, the 02 sensor the furthest away from the block

ok my friend is mechanic but he told me this engine can handle 100 hp wet shot is that true or he is ****** with my head

^^ your friend is right, it can take a 100 shot. But your engine is not going to last but maybe a couple days. You have to run a shot that will last(reliability) hence going w/ a 35 shot. Our engine just cant handle a 100 shot , it would be a bad idea.

You can put a 100 shot on anything, even your lawn mower, but that doesnt mean its going to last.

To the OP, are you hooking the pipe to the stock exhaust or do you have a cat-back?


Nm, Just looked and I see you have the Magna-flow. Tell me how it sounds, I might go the same route eventually when I find me a new job...
