-variable cam solenoid
Check solenoid screen. Clean and service. If dirty it limits the amount of oil pressure going to your solenoid which limits the amount of control your variable can has. You will know if you are getting unstable cam timing. Check tensioner and camshaft sensor.

Hi, Rick.

It is very easy to install a timing chain incorrectly.

Double-check, or have a friend check, the marks on the timing gears.

Search on "k20z3 timing" on YouTube.

I count 13 "how-to" videos covering this.

Hope this helps.
