I got a ticket a couple of days ago for having Yellow DRL's and Foglights...
Has anyone had any issues w/ this in BC? I read the MV Reg 4.01-.08 and nothings very clear in it.

If anyones been in the same situation, can you please let me know how you handled it?

I can't believe i got a ticket for this... crime must be low in Surrey

Lol..I thought exhil made another thread about this topic down below...

But yeah its too bad. Just read the MVA and the particular sections that pertain to whether or not yellow DRLs are "legal." However, the components of the MVA can be overshadowed by DOT (department of transportation) regulations.

If you can prove that you have installed bulbs that conform to DOT regulations as well as conform to the MVA, then you should be okay. I can't say what you can do as I've never been in this situation, but I would try to contest it if you feel that there has been wrong-doing. In a court of law, if the officer who wrote the ticket cannot point out where exactly your lights were illegal, then his capability to prove your guilt cannot be proven "without a reasonable doubt."

I have been searching high and low for the MVA on the yellows for exhil and can't find them. I will call my cop buddy and see what he has to say or worse comes to worse I will call ICBC and ask them.

I don't think you're supposed to have yellow lights. However, it is weird because some camaros come with orange drls.
when I bought my drls the package said "for off-road use only." I don't know why they would be illegal though as they
aren't bright and aren't dangerous what so ever. I do have a problem with yellow hid fogs which are bright as ****, but that's
a different story. If the bulbs aren't D.O.T certified they are illegal.

it's pointless asking cops what they think. They are just people, they aren't all the same. If they want to pull you over for going 65 in a 50 they can, most wont, but some will.

Seeing that he pulled over a guy on a bicycle (wearing a helmet) AS he was dealing with me... yeah i'd guess he was pretty bored..

Fraser Heights Area. It's weird cause the cops in that area are pretty layed back seeing it's one of the "nicer" areas of surrey. lol

agreed.

I've found that over the years in just about every province I've lived in that police will only enforce this sort of thing as an add-on to something else like speeding or whatever....unless in Richmond. Then all bets are off.

I'd like to add amber bulbs for my fogs

I roll through burnaby via Canada way every morning, I run my hids and my yellow fog hids and always pass by the RCMP. I have yet to be pulled for blinding them. Knocking on wood.
