I wanted to go ahead and introduce myself, I'm Scott from Knoxville, TN. I just picked up a black 2009 Si Coupe to use as a daily driver. It's stock with 250k miles on it, but seems to be in very good shape for the mileage. I ordered a flashpro and raceheader for it, other than that I'm just planning to clean it up, fix a few minor issues, and catch up some routine maintenance. Really enjoying the car so far and looking forwarding to learning a bit more about them.

Nothing special, but I snapped a quick picture when I got it home last night (yes, my garage is a mess):

And thought you guys might appreciate a picture of the Si's roommate:

For now, this baby is sitting in my shop and the first operation will be to give some love at the body...
So I'll be back in a few with some pics.
I'm native from Canada and be born in a french quarter of this country. I can speak lightly in english but have to apologize for my very bad control of the Shakespeare's language.

Let me say that your 2009 Civic coupe looks very nice but your 2001 Si is a real beauty. 😱😱😱

Hi everyone! New user here from Medicine Hat, AB, Canada 🇨🇦 I’ve always been an automotive enthusiast, but just got my first Civic/first Honda. It’s a 2010 - non-Si, and I’m still figuring out how to describe exactly what model that makes this one! I christened it with an immediate drive home from Niagara Falls, Ontario back to Medicine Hat in the winter!

First modification is adding the block heater (already picked one up from Honda, awaiting installation), and then who knows!

Below is a picture I took of it on my way home while passing through Sault Ste. Marie, ON with a stop at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Museum. The plane is a Beechcraft!

Hello all! Bought a 2008 LX sedan in October 2021 with 122k miles to replace my daughter's oil consuming '07 Mazda 3 with 226k and have been working furiously to get it all ship-shape for her. So far I have: added splash guards, replaced water pump & thermostat case to fix coolant leaks*, replaced torn steering rack boot, replaced radiator and upper and lower hoses, thermostat, serpentine belt, PCV valve, engine air and cabin air filters, and spark plugs as preventive. Replaced ATF twice, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and of course all coolant. Oh! And adjusted the valves (and found a very clean engine internally) and did and oil & filter change. Cosmetically I painted the steel wheels and plastic hub caps & repainted the black window frame trim.

*I was convinced I bought a non-cracked block engine but when replacing the serpentine belt and spotting coolant under the water pump I took the car to an indie Honda Master Tech who knew what to look for and did a cold pressure test; he confirmed the block was good, but in addition to the water pump leaking he identified a small leak along a mold seam in the "thermostat case", which is what the EGR valve sits on and the lower rad hose connects to. He sent me a pretty cool little 10-sec video of it leaking, at about a 15-20 drops per minute rate.

Hello All!

I've used this forum as a resource enough times that I figured I should register. Got my 09 Civic Si Sedan back in October. Clock had 140k miles and needed some suspension work and a clutch replacement. I tackled all the work myself, even though I have NEVER changed a clutch before. Made a lot of mistakes but I learned a lot. She now drives great and is being prepared for her first track events. So far I've done Revel adjustable coilovers, Eibach rear sway bar, stiffer bushings, and a Mishimoto cold air intake. I was able to fit some 2016 WRX wheels by machining my own spacers, both to fit the new width and to fit the smaller center bore on the wheel. Had rubbing problems of course, so I hacked up the fenders and installed some universal arches to hide the cut metal. Lots of things yet to be done, but glad to be part of the community. I will follow up with some pictures (I've done a terrible job documenting my progress). Good to meet everyone!

Not New, created my account awhile ago. However, Ive just been lurking after my first discussion. I own a 2010 Honda Civic Lx-S, in Atomic Blue? Lol She is a stock car…still...got her March of 2021. She has minor exterior damage that’s been there since purchasing her. I already got a idea of how I want to style her., exterior and all. Only things I’ve gotten change on her would be the battery and alternator, small things. I have big plans for her but my downside is I know almost nothin about cars. I searched for a site like this to enhance my knowledge and so far it’s working. Hopefully I meet some great people here to give me food for the brain : )

New Member: Buying a 2009 Civic DX-VP manual transmission, 4 door, 126K miles, it's salvage, "R" title with front end damage that's in for enhanced inspection. We have a dealer in town that buys all the 8th gen Civic's from Copart and repairs and sells them as an "R" title. I been bugging him for over a year for the 4 door manual and feel obligated to buy it cause he got it in just for me. NO! I didn't see it yet, guessing the price of $5295 with $5800 OTD price with tax and tags. This guy has a least 40 wrecked 8th gen Civics he swaps parts to make a good one, he sells parts and engines and is the ultimate expert working, repairing them. He always told me the 8th gen is the best Civic ever made. What do yins guys think? 2009 VP, manual , "R" title, 126K miles for $5295 ?
I should be ready to buy it in a few days and will be back to post pictures
I would love to put custom chrome wheels but this one uses 15" wheels, I could go with the the 16" on it ?
IF I buy it I plan on throwing some serious money on it to bring it back looking like new

Grabbed this 2010 120k for $13xxx
Bone stock when I got her.
Now she’s rolling on h&r suspension and trak+, genuine Jdm Honda badges all the way around including centers and steering wheel. Takeda Sri, muffler delete - str8 pipe w lobster tail, roof and spoiler flap, hfp front flip… I really couldn’t be happier w a car. This is car 19 for me, had everything from teggy gsr and Jetta glx to bmw3 to Mercedes to jeep and this is by far the most fun car to drive I’ve owned.

Hi I'm from Canada.

Little backstory:

I bought an 07 Honda Civic LX last year for $500 bucks cause I needed a beater and a buddy owed me $3k, so he ended up paying for most of it.

I just recently bought an 02 RSX Premium for $1000 from my cousin, which needs about $7k worth of body work. I'm just here to see if anybody's done an engine swap with a K20, and disc brake swap. Both are manual and run perfect, healthy engines. But I have a special project in mind and was just looking for some help and tips.

Greetings from the Santa Cruz Mountains! Bought a 2007 Civic Si on Wednesday from an acquaintance (friend of a friend of a friend), low mileage, and came on to this forum to find out more information. Because there's so much of it here, I decided to join.

Unless inspired by something I see here, I am not sure I will get too adventurous with modifications, but I am looking forward to staying on top of things with this car, which is the nicest one I've owned (a reflection mostly of my financial status more than anything).

Thanks to the creator of this forum, and the mods, for a great resource.

Hello all, new member here! Previous owner of an 07 Civic Si Sedan, gave it to a friend as I couldn't take it back with me. Had tons of fun in that car, currently contemplating whether to go for the 2022 Si or go back to another 8th gen Si...9th gen seems okay too, at a loss on which Si to get really! 😓
