Yeah they push cars through alright, although they are there to take your money and nothing else.
If you see my other post, I have a loud rattle coming from the engine compartment. I wanted to see if they could diagnose it. I had a garage take a look and he said its low end the engine is shot.

I left it there saying its a noise in the engine. They quickly diagnosed it as a loose heat shield (which did happen to be loose, I just do not care). I said its different, they said no our quality guy checked it out, its rattling. I said fine replace it, so for $35 they did. So I drove away, heard the noise, of course, drove it back, and told the guy at the service desk to get in the car. So, i explain, he gets it now, and says I will tell the tech, and if you leave it he will look at it tomorrow. Tomorrow rolls around, they didn't get to look at it, because, "I wanted it to sit cold for when the tech is ready, it sat the the car wash guys thought that's what it was waiting for so they washed it, now its warm and no rattling so can you bring it back on Monday?".
That is a huge line of bull****, but Curry Honda is good at that.
Bring it in Monday, they check it out, they say its the VTEC solenoid. I say you hear it around 3-4k rpm, VTEC doesn't kick in until 6k rpm.
"No, its the VTEC because it is pressurized by oil and you hear it rattling cause it is try to pressurize" Those are not exact words but basically the explanation. I was willing to accept that, still hoping they knew what they were talking about. The bill came to $700. For a f&*king solenoid, something you bolt to the car or engine, its not like you have to take stuff apart.
So I get there, and the service desk guy says "well we got rid of one rattle, but the rattle you are talking about is still there."
So I said you fixed nothing and i have a $700 hole in my pocket. He said no that rattle at start up is gone. I said that is not my problem and I told you that, you "fixed" something completely unrelated. Of course the car rattles a little the first start of the day, I don't care about that, its 8 years old had 120k miles on it, what I care about is the rattle at around 4k rpm, I need to know if the engine is going to self destruct or not.
I am thoroughly pissed off now, so I see the service manager. He says the standard ****, and I tell him, you did not fix the problem, but I am $700 poorer and you are $700 richer. He said its hard to diagnose, and we don't really have a history of the car. I flat out told him "you do not have a history of the car because you guys are crooks, and here is proof!" Believe me that there is a lot more swearing that I have said in this post.
Just when I was about to say, "tell you what just bill me out so I can get the **** out of here, its obvious you are not going to do a ******* thing for me!" He said ok, how about this, you pay for the part, only, I will eat the labor, I will still pay my guys but I will eat the labor. Like you would not pay your guys because of this, c'mon. So the part was about $230, which still makes me wonder what the **** could they be doing for $400+ of labor for a solenoid? I just wanted to get out of there, and I have a new solenoid, which is bs I don't need it, it still rattles in the morning. I think that is because I no longer use Honda oil filters which has the valve in it. The valve is supposed to keep the oil from draining into the filter, so it stays put and you do not get that rattle at startup. I knew I shouldn't have bothered to bring the car in to get their diagnosis.
So, also having bought this car at Curry, another crappy experience... I spoke to my salesman and talked about the cost, and how I wanted my payments at $300 instead of $350, and he said we can do that. So I said ok, and went down there a day or two later to finalize, and he denied the whole thing. I said, ok, bull**** I am out, and I walked out, and my wife said lets just get the car, its what you want. So we went back in and they did the whole back and forth let me ask the head of sales, blah blah blah. I flat out told him, hey you can do this, or you can speed this up, its up to you, I have no problem waiting here while my 11, 9, and 5 year roam around your showroom, getting in and out of cars, with the drinks you gave them, etc. All a bunch of typical ******* car salesmen.
Anyway having bought the car from them as well, and doing the first services with them until the warantee was over, "no I do not want an engine flush" I can honestly say Curry Honda is a bunch of crooks, their prices are stupid expensive, I question for Honda service people how much they really know, and most of all they are completely in it for themselves, not for the customer.
