I recently had a set of Tein Street Advance Coilovers installed in my r18. After driving around, I noticed that there was a popping or clicking sound coming from the right rear coilover every time I took a u-turn or a sharp turn.

Has this happened to anyone else? I just want to know if this is just a "breaking-in" thing and it'll go away after a while, or if I need to take it back to my mechanic, or God forbid, it's a defect in the coilovers.

Thanks in advance!

Its not supposed to be making noise. Did you reuse the 2 rubber bushings on each rear strut? There is one in the trunk and the other is under the car. You are supposed to remove them from the stock strut and put them on the coilover strut.

It should only make a popping noise once or twice for the coils to set in. It shouldn't be now. I would also like to know if you reused the rubber bushings?

Also make sure your top bolts that are inside of the car are all the way seated. I have seen a friend do coils and had a popping noise but it was because his top three bolts were seated all the way. One was, but the other 2 weren't and when he turned it popped against his car.
