ok i so i got the infinity ref6020cs comp. speakers. so im just trying to figure out whats a good amp and sub would be to compliment them or something. but before i get bashed on those speakers reason i bought them was because they were real cheap. i could also get an alpine 1242 sub, but is that s good sub? or are there any better for the same price range. back to the main question....im looking for a sub that can hit but at the same time not overpowering i kinda actually wanna hear the music not just a bunch of bass. and i would like to know some recommendations on amps, i was thinking one to power the front speakers( set of comps. and coaxials rears) and one for the sub.

nothing wrong with saving money, nobodys going to flame you for that, and besides, everybody has different sound tastes, but weve already been over that

the Alpine Type-R is a pretty decent woofer, and can be had for cheap, so no complaints there, its a pretty decent SQ woofer, id put it somewhere in the middle of it all

and as for the amps, gimme a budget, THEN ill start throwing things your way

100-300 for EACH im hoping. . . and if thats the case id maybe consolidate the cash and buy a PDX-5, its a good solid amp thatll power all your speakers and give sufficient power to a Type-R for it to thump good and clean

as for the sub, for what you can get those things for on places like fleabay, im not sure that you can get much better. . . but strictly speaking, on retail terms, the good competitors would be the Polk MM. . . im sure the guys will come in here with brands that I usually dont see. . . but as for the mainstream products in that price gap, those would be my choices

better yet, buy this:
