Despite this major effort to improve upon the Avalon’s dowdy image in Australia, Toyota execs know full well that the sedan will not seriously threaten the Falcon and Commodore, both of which are available with big V8s, also come in wagon variants and compete exclusively against each other in the popular V8 Supercar Series.
